New Heart OST (MBC TV Drama)

MBC drama New Heart kicks off 2008 with impressive ratings and a promising outlook. Ji Seong (Save Your Last Dance For Me), returning to television after completing his military service, plays a clumsy but charismatic cardiac surgeon opposite Kim Min Jung (Stranger Than Paradise), his love interest, and Lee Ji Hoon (Billie Jean Look at Me), his screen rival. The much-anticipated medical drama marks another ratings competition between its leading actor and Jang Hyuk (Thank You) whose Robbers is airing in the same timeslot on a competing network. Striking a good balance of technical details and romantic tension, New Heart offers a fascinating insight into the private world of the medical profession.

The producers of The 1st Shop Of Coffee Prince's popular soundtrack work their magic once again with New Heart OST. The ending title song Monologue (Track 2) combines the talents of Jin Sung of Monday Kiz and Choi Jung Hwan of M To M, and features full-fledged orchestral sounds that beautifully convey the drama's dynamics and sentiments. The album also offers a pleasant visit from Hong Kyung Min who pitches in his husky vocals with Gamsa ("Thankfulness" - Track 5), the main theme song for Ji Seong's character. Newcomer Kim Dong Hee renders a powerful and emotive performance in Sarangeul Molatjo ("Didn't Know About Love" - Track 7).
