First broadcast in September 2007, SBS's weekend drama First Wives' Club has steadily climbed in ratings and as of April 2008, dominates ratings in its timeslot every Saturday and Sunday night. Starring Kim Hye Sun (Famous Princesses), Oh Dae Kyu, Son Hyun Ju (My Rosy Life), and Byun Jung Soo (The Woman Living Across the Street), this highly popular drama tackles the emotional complexities surrounding adultery and explores the breakdown of virtues and family values that are posing a grave threat to today's society.
The First Wives' Club OST deftly conveys the drama's emotional appeal. Eru offers his enchanting vocals in the first three tracks, with each song singing a different stage of the rocky relationship between the two protagonists. Sarang hae yo nae nae ("I Will Always Love You" - Track 1) represents a return to good old days when love and faith remained steadfast; Noon mul ee mom choo ji ahn neun da ("Endless Tears" - Track 2) reflects upon the damage in the marriage caused by infidelity; and finally Nae ga ji kyeo jool tae ya ("I Will Take Care Of You" - Track 3) talks about the healing process and closure. Adding much depth and realism to the characters' emotional journey, the soundtrack enhances and propels the plot with force, resonating in the hearts of viewers long after the drama's ending.

Great OST...

I almost didn't get this cd because the show at first drove me crazy (stopped watching it for a while & now I am back to watching because of the new guy that plays a young manager at the store). Wow, the OST is really great! I didn't hear a lot of the music when watching the show since the episodes I watched had so much yelling and the music drowned in it. I am glad I purchased this & listen to it quite often. I really dislike the Oh Dae Gu's womanizing role! He played such a nice, likeable guy in his last show that I was looking forward to this show but now everytime he is on the screen for the show, I switch to another station. Also his current partner (also a doctor) has played the same mistress role in her last role. This is one way to get type cast. How sad. I still like Oh Dae Gu & hope his next role will be some one that is more likeable. Whoever the young store manager is, wow, hope to see him in other things soon. I am liking the show much more now & will continue to watch to the end. |
