　　在1937年12月的南京，日軍進城。九歲的五月本與爸媽及妹妹八月活在幸福裡，卻因時局改變而家破人亡。爸爸被日軍殘殺，媽媽被強姦，為了買藥救八月，媽媽用自己引走爪牙，最後只剩下五月和八月相依為命面對茫茫前路。本以為跟舅舅來到鎮江可以定居下來，豈料戰事蔓延於此，被逼丟下這兩姊妹，她們用自己的角度去看這飄搖的人生。

　　In December of 1937, the two young girls, May and August, lived blissfully with her parents in Nanjing. Unfortunately, the outbreak of the war totally changed their lives. May's parents were killed by the Japanese soldiers. Once May's uncle knew the tragedy, he brought the two girls from Refugee camp. Later, the Japanese invaders took full control of the city and May's uncle was arrested and executed. Since then, May and August must learn to be strong to face all the upcoming challenges.
