Fegele flees to England and re-names Suzie. She cannot speak Yiddish but learns to sing. Ten years later she becomes a chorus girl and befriends Lola. She falls in love with a gypsy musician Cesar. When the Nazis persecute the Jews and Gypsies, Lola helps her to leave. The ship to America is bombed. Suzie is rescued but Lola drowns. Fegela meets her Father again and is finally recalled by his Jewish songs.
