Not up to par in today's standard.

This movie really reminds me of the popular martial art films in the 70s of H.K (Bruce Lee Movie Era). The plot is linear with no twist and the acting is really in the amatuar standard. My friend even jokingly say that you can actually watch the whole film and understand it without needing to read the caption. The story is very elementary in today's standard. I must admit that I was really impress with the actions and stunts here though. I was awed by some of the tricks and stunts pulled off by the male leading actor. But I disagree with others saying this movie is violent. At least there's no blood or body parts splattering everywhere. I would say the actions and stunts are like Jackie Chans in the 1980s (Police Story, Project A) except in Thai Boxing. Overall, this movie is worth a peek for the stunts and actions. If this movie was made in the 70s, I'm sure it would of been a bigger hit than today. |
