继2005年3月在红馆举行的《05劲歌金曲演唱会PART ONE/ TWO》後，古巨基马不停蹄地工作，与杨千嬅等到澳洲为无拍摄音乐特辑，又与张柏芝首次成为银幕情侣的电影《野蛮必杀技》，最近更入选今年「香港十大杰出青年」，成绩有目共睹。基仔继《大雄》及《游戏-基》後又一话题大碟，2005年度唱片《星战》隆重登场！随碟附送古巨基「星战」DVD，11支精彩MV全收录！
今次基仔的11首新曲全部以70至90年代的「金曲」为名，向香港乐坛致敬！基仔邀请了林夕等音乐人为他挑选经典金曲，然後重新作曲及填词，再融合部分经典歌词作出新的演绎。率先在演唱会中登场的有脍炙人口的哥哥张国荣金曲「Monica」，此劲歌经重整後即成为中板情歌，给人完全耳目一新的感觉。
另一首主打歌则是取材自许冠杰的「天才与白痴」，其MV更邀得吴佩慈友情客串演出。另外，基仔还将陈百强、王菲、张学友、郭富城及郑少秋等当年的金曲大玩特玩。
古巨基成为亚洲游戏展首位男代言人，2005年初基仔在个唱中采用PS2电玩游戏《Devil May Cry》及「高达」造型，对电子游戏的热爱程度毋庸置疑，故被选中为2005游戏展大使，并主唱大会主题曲「明星」。为了配合大会造型，英国游戏公司为他度身订造了「银河猎人」的崭新形象，跨越时空带来新鲜感，这款造型亦成为他《星战》的唱片封面。

Leo Ku, the new God of Songs, with another superb

With a very creative mind, Leo has come up with another conceptual album. Using the titles of the oldie hits, 11 brand new songs, ranging from R and B, soft pop, to upbeat tunes, have been introduced in Star Track. In my review for Leo’s Nobita album, I have written “it is very hard to find an album that I can enjoy every single track of it. However, Leo’s new album, Nobita, gives me that satisfaction.” I think the comment would apply here for Star Track as well. Star Track gets at least the same quality as Nobita, or it may surpass Nobita a little bit in the number of hits. While 天才與白痴, 一生何求, and?是覺得你最好 (tracks 1, 2 and 7), excellent ballads performed by a superb vocal, each song itself can become the major promotional song of the album; the ?流轉, ?年情and Monica (Tracks 4, 8 and 10) each has its own value and worth to listen to. I enjoy them all. However, I’m especially impressed by tracks 3, 5, 6, 9 and 11 and here are my comments about these tracks. Star (track 6, 明星) and ?真傳說 (track 3), my most favorite tracks, can be considered as the masterpieces of the whole album, at least to my own opinion. The former track is the theme song of the '05 Asian Game Exhibition. The term “perfection” should be used here to describe Leo’s performance. Leo has sung the song with such an extremely sentimental as well as super powerful vocal. I think everyone must agree that Leo is one of the greatest singers in Hong Kong nowadays after listening to Star. The latter track is an extraordinary melody. Leo has successfully delivered the song to listeners and left them with a touched and long-lasting feeling. Their feelings are still with the song even the last note has been played. Star Track (track 11, 星戰) is a great melody with the music background performed by an orchestra. Listening to this song gives listeners a feeling like being listening to the soundtracks of some great Hollywood movies such as Phantom of the Opera, Star Wars…It’s hard to believe that Hong Kong can produce such a great music. And again, Leo’s vocal is so impressive and mixed perfectly with an outstanding music background. 夢中人(track 5) and 甜蜜蜜(track 9 - the theme song of Coca Cola ad ) are two upbeat songs with a very special and creative music arrangement and sound effect, making them be the most unique tracks of the album, to my own opinion. Although I am a person who mostly goes with slow songs, I really fall in love with the songs. With the fake voice fitting very well to a unique music background, Leo has amazedly performed 夢中人. I don’t think other singers can perform the song better than Leo and no wonder why Leo has been dubbed as the King of fake voice. Star Track with a significant number of hits has been successful and well accepted by listeners. 天才與白痴, 夢中人 and Monica have been the big hits on the HK 4 major TV and radio stations - Jade Solid Gold of TVB, CTHK 903, RTHK and Metro radio. 天才與白痴got the highest media score so far for this year - the score calculated based on the position and the number of weeks that the song stayed on the music charts generated weekly by the stations. Star is now climbing up the charts. ?真傳說 appears to be another great hit like Love and Honesty (愛與誠). If Nobita has been successful to help Leo being the top singer in HK, then Star Track along with Final Fantasy will help Leo to reach to the top, not only in HK but also in the whole Chinese music industry. Best wishes to LEO toward the music awards at the end of the year. It is hard to find a talented artist with a good looking and healthy image like Leo in the Chinese music industry nowadays. So Good Luck to you, LEO!!!! |

Though the title of each song comes from the past pop songs, the lyrics and melodies are all BRAND NEW. For example 甜蜜蜜(track No.9) now has a fast tempo, and is selected as the theme song for icoke.hk commercial. By listening to the samples of almost all the songtracks along with 3-4 songs in full versions, i feel it is a high quality album, and really would like to recommend to everyone. :) |
