古老的木蘭圍場，曾經是大清皇帝的御用狩獵場。二十年代，這裡只是中國北部邊陲一片與世無爭的草原，正漸被遺忘。繡繡，一個漢族孤兒，從小被遺留在這裡，長得淨白標緻，是全村公認的美人，在別無選擇之下，嫁了當地最威武的牧民阿達，成為全村最富裕的一戶，過著連她自己也覺得幸福的生活。
除了在每次阿達狂暴熱烈的與她造愛之後，她總是若有所失，懷疑只不過是作為妻子的一份責任，別無樂趣。由於她體內流著的一股不同的血液，有時也渴望到圍場外走走，看看外面的世界，但很快打消這個念頭，畢竟外面的世界對她來說實在是太遙遠直至某一年的夏天，從外面來了一個男人。
李盟，一個據說曾在外國學醫，打扮頗西化入時，秀氣的面龐架著一副眼鏡。偶然地闖入圍場，也同時闖進繡繡原本平靜緊鎖的心頭。起先繡繡對這個陌生人是抱有戒心，他代表的是外面的世界，一個既害怕又渴望的世界，她寧可不去認識，恐防自己會一去不回，卻又禁不住……
In ancient, Mu Lam Hunting Ground, which was a royalgameland in Qing Emperor: It is an peaceful and faxable field near the northern border of China in the year of twentieth. A pretty Han orphan. She thought all the violent making love with Ah Da was the responsibility of a wife without other senses. It was because she has inherited Han's blood which made her intend to go to see the other part of the world was too far away from away from her. Until one summer there was a man coming from outside...
A western dressed Chinese doctor with a pair of glasses. Li Chao, who was been gossiping that he learnt his medication in foreign country. He came to Wei Chang and stir up the peaceful land all in sudden. Xiu Xiu was refused to see Chao, who represented an unknown but excited outside world. She was forced by her husband to see Chao when she was sick. She couldn't say her feeling when she has been touching by Chao. They started a violent passion but no future.
The doctor never thought that he would met such a woman who would made him lost in another world. Ah Da was a nature born hunter, he noticed that his wife been difference. When he wanted to coursing the doctor, he found the doctor was a slacker due to killed his officer. Ah Da has to kill Chao for keeping his lovely wife. Chao has to survive because of his lovely woman. Nothing could keep Xiu Xiu to go outside even she know that she and, Chao's love would be finished.
