HongKong New Wave!
| 花樣年華 is a resemble to French New Wave Movies. The movie does not appeal to all audience but there will always some find them attractive and great to watch. I, for one, who loved "Breathless" Jean-Luc Godard, felt in love with the movie 花樣年華(In the Mood for Love). Director Wang Kar Wai is well-known for his stylish story-telling. His movies are also known for their near perfect cinematographer. In this movie, Wang draw the emotions though the pictures, editing and music. From the deep-red representing passions and lust to harsh cutting symbolized characters' chaotic feelings towards each others. It is a unique movie-experience because the narrative does not tell you how to fell, the pictures and editing did. Watching this movie require imagination from its audience because whether the movie made sense is up to audience. Once you accept its style, it will a rewarding film-exprience! |
