Chen Handong meets Lan Yu and pay to start a life-changing relationship. Handong meets Lan Yu more frequently until one night Lan Yu finds his lover seduching a college athlete. They meet again on the night of 4 June 1989. Handong finds Lan Yu save from being caught by the army's murderous sweep through at Tiananmen Square and they restart their live together. For shying away from his feelings for the boy, Handong married with Jingping. But they divorced before long. He runs into Lan Yu again by chance. But fate can play cruel tricks....

藍宇---同志愛藍宇 注意內文有劇情 拍攝過「女人心」、「胭脂扣」、「阮玲玉」、「紅玫瑰與白玫瑰」等的導演關錦鵬，過往所拍的都被稱為女性電影﹔直至1996年，他走出衣櫃，成為第一位公開同性戀身份的香港導演，自此大眾便把他標籤改為同性戀電影導演﹔雖然接著他所拍的作品，亦有同志角色出現在片內，但角色描寫點到即指，只屬配角，同志電影導演之名，名不符實﹔2001年的今天，他終於拍了一部深入探討同性戀的感情世界的電影:「藍宇」。 最近台灣第三十八屆金馬獎公佈入圍名單，「藍宇」表現最突出，共獲得最佳影片、最佳導演、最佳男主角等十項提名，為此片增加了不少見報機會﹔大概有不少人一聽到同志電影就會退避三舍，再看演員名單全是不知名的國內藝人更會立即把電影打落＋八層地獄永不超身，藉著今次在金馬獎中高姿態入圍，應該可以吸引一批新觀眾入場。 「藍宇」是第一部由中國網上小說改編而成的男同性戀電影，原著小說名為「北京故事」，全書長三十一章，故事敘述捍東與藍宇一段發生在北京橫跨十年的同志愛情故事。看過原著小說的人都應該會認同「北京故事」十分適合改編成電影，它的劇情非常豐富，從最初捍東用錢買下藍宇的初夜，他們發展出真感情，捍東要與靜平結婚，到捍東離婚後再遇藍宇.....故事的發展一節緊扣一節，他們的離合散聚都很勳人。電影版為了使情節更集中在捍東與藍宇身上，刪減了捍東與靜平離婚的真相，有興趣的人可補看小說。 相信大家對飾演捍東與藍宇的胡軍與劉燁感到有點陌生，其實他們都是來自國內演藝學院的高材生，胡軍之前在「東宮 酉官」中扮演警察，劉燁則是新演員，但演技亦有板有眼，兩人優秀的演技確使觀眾更投入劇中人。「藍宇」先後在康城及其個多個電影節參展過，我是在溫哥華電影節中看的，「藍宇」的門券非常搶手，預售時已一早沽清，幸好我有pass才能進場﹔當晚持票人一早就到場排隊，看到很多很多中、外籍同志聯�警眸尹荓歲鶠A他們表現大方，不架意別人知道他的性取向。 當晚關錦鵬亦有出序電影節，他更留低至完場後接受觀眾Q&A發問﹔我記得當晚完場時已接近凌晨，觀眾理應趕坐尾班車回家，但我留意到在Q&A發問前離場的人少於十個，觀眾靜待長達五分鐘的主題曲播完才熱烈鼓掌﹔燈光開著的一剎那，我發現不少人的眼眶都紅了起來，他們被捍東與藍宇的愛所感動﹔老實說，其實劇情不算十分悲痛，我覺得他們感動是捍東與藍宇之間真摰的愛，聽說同志的世界�堳傶孎鋮麈u愛，同志都喝望找到自已的藍宇，一個肯在失意時留在自已身邊的藍宇，一個肯為自已放棄物質的藍宇，同志愛藍宇.....其實豈止同志愛藍宇! 文: Lu Lu - Cinespot.com |

I am a heterosexual but I like gay film tremendously because many gay films are moral stories. Lan Yu reminds me another film "Another Country". It is a love story between two Eton boys, Guy and James. Guy betrayed Britain and gave national secrets to USSR. James married and became a banker. Guy finally settled in USSR. He was interviewed by a Western reporter on why he betrayed his country. Instead of telling his political views, he told his love with James. He did not regret anything but did not miss anything either. The only thing he missed was cricket. He played cricket with James and recalled Jame's motions and expressions. Both Another Country and Lanyu present longings for youth days. Both films leave some questions for the audience: what is moral? why do we need social acceptance? is there anything worthy of our life long pursuit? Lanyu gives warmer feeling since it is our Chinese huamnity. The answers are positive. Another Country leaves audience with total emptiness. |

Lan Yu is the best book I read in the past 5 years. If you like the movie, I highly recommend you buy the book. The movie has illustrated the theme but there are still many details the book offers. The story is not only about gay, it is also about youth, beauty, freedom, integrity, independence, dignity of survival, and most important unconditional love. The ending of the movie is different from the ending of the book. I like the movie's better because it presents the theme of the undying love. The fiction's ending is too "realistic: telling the remained one finally returning to socially acceptable lifestyle -- marrying a woman and having a child, and caring his mum. |
