　　Karl is guy who's been taught the Bible, but it's the wrong Bible. It's his father and mothers's version, which totally screwed him up. When he killed his mother and her lover, he thought he was doing the right thing. Karl is a very practical human being, and believes that if you have to sacrifice to do the right thing, so be it. He is willing to sacrifice anything to help Frank, this little kid he cares about.
