由張徹所發掘，剛陽味十足的陳觀泰，演活《逃亡》中一副俠骨仁風的真漢子顧回，雖自幼於土匪窩中長大，卻立志劫富濟貧，不屑新一輩土匪頭子杜健強（吳池欽）那殘忍狠毒手段。後因一少女唐麗（施思）被杜所擄，復迫作壓寨夫人，顧回遂將唐救出，踏上被黑、白兩道追殺的逃亡之路。經過多次死裡逃生的經歷，尤幸顧最終鼓起勇氣面對現實，參與剿匪行動，保得天下太平之餘，還贏回一個重新做人的機會。
The great Sun Chung, lauded for his versatility and artistry, here directs one of his first martial arts epics (after having established his reputation in comedy and modern-day crime thrillers). He teams with real-life kung-fu champion Chen Kuan-tai and martial arts choreographer Liu Chia-yung (brother of the preeminent kung-fu film master Liu Chia-liang) to tell the tale of a bandit with a conscience who takes on the entire Wolfs’ Head gang for the love of a good woman.
