She performed really well (as did everyone else) despite her injured bad hand. Watching the Making Clip afterwards you can see just how much pain she was truly in, which makes me even more proud of her for going ahead with the show at all. This is also part of what makes me idolize her and the majority of the Japanese people in general. Anyways, all the performances were just excellent with many different costumes, lightings props, some nice great speeches and jokes during the mic, an awesome short guitar solo by her guitarist during an interlude and more. I really felt myself having just as much fun as the people who were there did. It's a great addition to your DVD collection, and I reccomend it all the way.
PS. As for the Chinese subs problem, I don't know what to say. I bought the Japan Version. However, if there's no option on the menu to shut them off, sometimes pressing the "Subtitle" or "Captions" button on the remote a few times manages to work for me with other DVDs I own, so give that a try. May 7, 2009 Verily SolidThis new mini album is very different from anything she's done before. However, it isn't bad at all. It's actually Really Really good... and she didn't turn cutesy like half these other popular Korean girl groups out now either. The mini album flows well and has a bunch of great songs on it with some great lyrics and compositions. I was very pleased with what she's done with it. My only real problem with this mini album is the remixes. They're good, but there's a problem. The first 2 remixes are of the same song, but they sound almost perfectly identical to each other, and yet the same thing happens for the second set of remixes that finish off this mini album. Chae's had some great remixes before, and each one was different and refreshing enough that you almost forgot it was a remix of the same song as you just listened to. There was at least a few remixes of My Love on her last album, but they all sounded quite different from each other, but in this case it feels like they just dragged the same remix into the next track or something. Over all it's a good mini album. I give it a 8.5/10, and I'm looking forward to her next release. Hopefully the next one won't take so long either. Did you find this review helpful? I don't usually bother with a-nation collectables. Usually I just stick to ones by specific artists. However, I caught this on sale at $13.49. Took me a moment and I decided to add it to my cart at such a bargain. All I can say is I'm glad I did. The tshirt is a great size and fits so incredible well. Also, it's caught more attention than I thought it would. Plus I really like the design even better up close. Oh, and they dont show you in the picture here but there's also the a-nation logo on the back of the shirt near the top. On sale, it's really worth your money, but at regular price you might wanna hang on a bit til they lower the price again. Certainly a nice collectable. Did you find this review helpful? The design is meant to jump off the shirt and catch attention, which is what you obviously wanna do when wearing your favorite celebrity's collectables. It's a nice size if you're a small person. I'm about 4'11, so it works well with me, but if you're taller you might wanna take the Men's size. I find this tshirt is more comfortable and loose than the previous tshirts from her Black Cherry and Kingdom Tours, which I'm very happy about. I think I'll be wearing this quite a bit. First place is the mall this weekend. Another small thing I like is that the washing instructions on the tag are written in english this time, which always helps quite a bit. May 2, 2009 Not Quite As Shown, But...This bag is actually see-through from one side to the other. The main color of the bag is tinted yellow and then the one side has the design of the blue dots and the pink design of the sundae and Kumi's name on it in vinyl as well. It's solid thick vinyl and extremely well made. It's also (after much searching) the perfect size for doing all your casual shopping or just carrying books and other things around. I've already found a ton of uses for it and the design is just really lovely. I think I'll be using it to take my towel, sunblock and other such stuff to the beach this year as well as take it with me when I go to the mall this weekend to show it off, and so I dont need to carry a dozen smaller bags around with me either. And lastly, at $10.99 it's a price I simply can't argue with. Real nice deal, and I'm glad I bought it. Plus, I reccomend it to all Kuu-chan fans. Perfect useful collectable. However, it has no real dancing or anything spectacular compared to some clips I've seen of her Love Cook and Love Jam Tours. Also, part of it really drags on as she sings like 5 ballads in a row. Not to mention her outfits are not exactly all that impressive, and for some reason even though they don't show much of the audience... Why is she in such a small place when she's performed other tours in huge arenas before!? Another thing to pick at is the cameraman sometimes seems a bit jittery. I'm really hoping her future concerts will and are much better than this one. On the upsides, the interlude movies are pretty cool and creative, and the booklet that comes with this is quite nice with plenty of great pictures. The design is kinda simplistic, but it's also really nice. Also the fabric is pure cotton, but it seems stronger, bit thicker and higher quality than any of the BoA, Kumi Koda or Ayumi Hamasaki T-Shirts I already own. I know the price might seem a bit much, but all concert goods aren't cheap. So if you are a fan of DAI and wanna show it off this is definitely a nice purchase. Highly Reccomended! However, after hearing this mini-album, all I can say is SHE SHOULD'VE STARTED SINGING A LOT SOONER! She has a great voice and can really do a lot with it. I love her flavour of R&B that she'd done with this CD. Also, The PVs are pretty hot and sexy. The only dissapointment is that it's not a full album. April 10, 2009 Great Poster, But...
This is a really nice poster, and I'm quite glad I bought it. The cover to this single was just excellent, and it looks great hanging on my wall. However, I feel it was priced a bit high considering the quality. The paper used for this poster is kinda thin compared to the many other posters I own. So to make up for this one flaw, I've had this poster properly framed to keep it from any damages. Also, the special framing adds to the awesomeness of it. So yeah, lovely poster, but you might want to have something extra done to it to protect it. In this case I'm a bit dissapointed in avex. They could've definitely afforded to use better paper. March 27, 2009 A Bit Weak...I've been looking a good deal forward to Satomi's second album, ignoring the singles up til now of listening to her new full album. The album consists of some pretty good songs, which for the most part hold up to her vocal capability and reputation. This CD on the whole is actually a bit lighter than her previous debut album. Garden had some partially upbeat tracks, which were part of the hook. This one seems more for relaxation than the previous one. That's not a bad thing though. I believe in having a few good relaxation type of CDs in your collection for those unfortunate bad days or times when you just don't feel all that great. However, where this album really falls weak is the interludes and the disney songs. The interludes are very weak and have no real body to them whatsoever. The first Disney song(track 9) would be much better if it wasn't for the guy singing it with her. His voice is very deep and doesnt go well with hers' at times. Especially right at the end. Then Part Of Your World which everyone already knows I'm sure, is the hardest slam to floor of the album. Her english needs serious work in the pronunciation area of things. Also, she puts no emotion or heart into this song. Part Of Your World is one of my favorite disney songs from my childhood. It was always meant to be very emotional, but it just came out flat and dry here. I hate to say it, but "Satomi, you butchered a childhood favorite of mine." So this album's quite good on the other tracks, but these four just fail below the line. I give the album a 7/10, and I'm really hoping that Satomi will do better next time. It's totally addicting, and both songs have a great PV that both obviously had some real thought and work put into them. Also, the covers are just addicting and mezmorizing. I originally was going to buy this single so quickly.... So why didn't I? Well, I'm dissapointed that there's only Instrumentals. If there had of been an extra track like a bonus remix I definitely would have, but with only Instrumentals I'll let this one pass. January 30, 2009 Great Singer, Great PurchaseI've heard many debut albums over the years by many different fabulous and not so fabulous artists that sometimes either went on to becoming huge major popular super stars or flopped and went on in life to find another career that suited them better. With all of the good ones that went on to become major celebrities I've found that they had far better albums as time went on with their career, while the first one seemed shabby in comparison. However, seriously, if this singer Miho can outshine and outdo this debut album there's no way she could possibly be human. She has an incredible outstanding voice on absolutely every track, and her English is perfect on the full English song On Top Of The World, which can be a rare trait in the Japanese music industry. Also, the composing of each track is magnificent, and the album is really well built to flow perfectly from beginning to end. The only tiny small flaw this CD has is the cover. It certainly isn't the greatest cover to ever come out of any point in music history, but it can be difficult to do anything overly fancy when you're just starting out in your career. The inner booklet does however make up for the cover with a lovely design and some great pictures of the singer. Next I will add that there are many different releases within the past couple months and the month to come that I'm very greatly enjoying and looking forward to. However, I reccomend this album over absolutely every other Asian artist's release. The year 2009 may just be starting, but this is definitely the best album of the year in my opinion. January 27, 2009 Great Album For All JPop FansWith Mai K's last album, although it was rather good it was kinda messed up a little. So this time she's come back on her 10th Anniversary to really outshine her last album with a full album full of amazing tracks. Every song on this album compliments each other making the album flow extremely well. Also, all the songs here are great from the upbeat ones to the ballads. Another interesting one, and although it's the least appealing song to me, is that Top Of The World is sung in English. Her English is quite good, but it needs a little more work on pronunciation at points. She really does seem to have put quite a lot of thought and work into this album as even the pictures in the booklet are just lovely. If you order in time the First Press also features a digipack and a 10th Anniversary sticker. The sticker though isn't overly special, but the digipack is just excellent. January 25, 2009 A New Style For KumiI must admit that when as the previews and radio rips slowly came out I didn't care for the album too much. In fact, I had considered on simply not buying it, which would be a first for me. I've always bought every album, single and DVD she's ever released. I'm a HUGE fan. So for awhile I felt terribly depressed and dissapointed about the album, but after listening to the full album together at once, seeing the PVs and looking at the booklet, this album is yet another GREAT album by Kumi Koda. I will admit some of the material here is a brand new take for Kuu, but it's really good. She's totally outdone herself this time. I can only hope the TRICK Tour 2009 will be just as great, and Better than the Kingdom Tour 2008. January 25, 2009 Great... Except For The PriceI received this towel from a friend of mine who actually went to Ayu's PCDL 08-09 concert. It's really well made, a very nice collectable and quite absorbent. The design is really lovely and the size is perfect for using when wrapping around you after a shower or even ringing out your long hair after washing it. However, my friend bought this towel for A LOT cheaper than this! THIS IS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE FOR A BATH TOWEL BY ANYONE! EVEN SUCH A WONDERFUL GREAT ARTIST LIKE AYUMI! January 4, 2009 I'm surprised...This is my first time ever writing a review for Ai Otsuka, and a positive one at that. I've never liked any of Otsuka's albums in the past so I was ver surprised and happy to discover that I enjoyed this one. Not only has her voice improved, but her style has also matured, and I'm very much enjoying it. The only song on this album I'm not too fond of is #12 Do Positive. The rest are quite good, except in a few places her voice still drifts a tad bit off course, but I will say that it's still greatly improved. And so, hoping that she'll continue this more mature style, I'll be looking forward to her future releases, and I wish her all the best. The price on this is the same as the CD Only of this album, and the DVD has some real nice content, so this is definitely the one to buy at a decently nice price. Not to mention, the cover for the CD+DVD is better than the CD Only edition. I reccomend Ai Otsuka for the first time with this album. Definitely a nice purchase. Did you find this review helpful? November 29, 2008 Great AlbumThis was my first introduction to this singer, and I must say that I'm overly impressed. I enjoyed every track on this CD quite a bit. His voice flows well with the music and he pulls off some pretty incredible things with his voice in some places. Another thing I must admit I enjoy is that he actually sounds like a guy when he sings. I've heard a few other male asian singers that sound almost female when they sing. My only regret is that YesAsia doesn't have any of his other Korean CDs that I can purchase right now. This is a good mix of R&B and Pop and I look very much forward to hearing his other CDs, both past and future works in the time to come. Definitely a good buy. Did you find this review helpful? However, I feel the creator of the original series must have not been gay or known anything about it. There are a few things in the storyline that seem to scream that. Ichiko brings home her girlfriend only to find out later that day that her father is gay right from his own mouth, and that her mother was a lesbian, yet in a split moment of saying she wanted to have a baby the two people got married and had a child(Ichiko). To me, all this says is that it lacks in idea and that people can just completely switch over in a split second. To me, this story comes off as a bit of a twisted fairytale, and I do reccomend it to those who enjoy sweet stories but it can't be taken seriously in any way. Did you find this review helpful? Just that the movie went so much into memories that I sometimes found myself a little confused as to what was present and what was in the past. Also, Wolfe was lazy and didn't redo the subtitles from the original HK release, so they weren't the greatest. Another thing was that it sidetracked a little bit at points. February 25, 2008 Very Good, But...Music CD - OK, the album CD itself is positively excellent with the small exception of the limited edition bonus track "Hey Boy Hey Girl". It's a decently good song, but SEAMO's rapping can get to be too much, and give me a headache. Despite there's also some rapping sorta thing from WISE. I know it's not exactly that, but I'm not sure what to call it in the song "My Way, Your Way" it's actually fitting for the song. Honestly, some of my favorite songs on here are "be with you", "Happy Birthday", "Diamond Heart" and "LOVE LETTER".
First DVD - Well, this DVD isn't bad, but the Sweet Impact PV is slightly redundant, but still nice to watch. And then the LOVE LETTER PV can be a little boring. It needed more to it if you ask me. The other 2 PV's are really good. Then the BoA TV and The Face thing. They're both very interesting and I enjoy them very much, but I think people who speak Japanese fluently or at least have a good understanding of it will enjoy these the most. I am not fluent, but have learned alot so there's not much I can't understand.
Second DVD - Now here's the part of this album which dissapointed me. At first I heard that the "BoA X'mas Live" was going to be on here which is what made me preorder this version elsewhere right away over a month ago. And well, I'm dissapointed how it changed. The DVD has 8 performances from X'mas Live, 4 from Made In Twenty Tour, 1 from "M-flo Tour Cosmicolor" and 3 from Rhythm Nation 2007. Now, these can be good and they can't be. And I don't mean the performances. I already have the Made In Twenty Tour double DVD set, so that's 4 useless performances to me on this DVD. And then I already preordered the Rhythm Nation 2007 DVD and for alot more than the BoA performances, so that's 3 more performances which I don't need in the long run. It will give me a preview of the entire thing til my preorder DVD arrives though. And then the BoA Live X'mas is absolutely excellent... Well, whats here anyways, so you might as well order the full concert separately. In my personal opinion, I think she should've put the entire X'mas Live on here and maybe the M-Flo Tour Cosmicolor performance of The Love Bug on here as a bonus. Still, all the performances on this DVD are really excellent, and until I get my Rhythm Nation 2007 and X'mas Live DVDs these will keep me busy with a preview of them which is really enjoyable.
Cover And Designs(Pictures) - Well, the cover is quite different from anything in the past but I really like it, and the pictures inside are really nice. I love them all. The soft blue reminds me of what the sky looks like during the summer.
So on the whole, this is a really good album, but if you have or are going to order any of the stuff on the second DVD it's probably best to get the CD+1DVD version.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
