Vivian Chow Most Beloved 30 Songs is a 2-CD box set. This was released when she had just retired... around 1998. Even though these songs appear on her previous CDs, I still bought it because I cannot get enough of listening to her sweet beautiful voice.

Vivian Chow: Romance is a very nice CD. I like it when she sings slow songs. The song "Invite Me to Dance" is medium tempo and very fun, really makes me want to dance. This CD comes with a small photobook with very beautiful photos of Vivian.

June 10, 2006 Gokusen - Pretty good drama Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
"Gokusen" is about a young female teacher, named Yamaguchi Kumiko (Nakama Yukie) who wants to make a difference in students' lives and contribute to Japan's education system to make it a better place for studying. Her grandfather is actually a godfather of a triad group and she is supposed to take his place someday. But she doesn't want to be a part of that life. She wants to be a teacher. And she doesn't want anyone to know about her family's background. She wants everyone to treat her like a normal regular person.

Yamaguchi's first day of teaching is a complete nightmare. Her students are rotten as hell and give her such a hard time. They make wise remarks about her appearance (she wears glasses and gym clothes most of the time). They never listen to her and they skip class. Whatever they do, she is ready to meet the challenge and to get them to learn. She is very willing to make a lot of effort to discipline them.

This drama has some very funny moments, like the part when Yamaguchi has a crush on a police officer. That is very cute. Matsumoto Jun is also in this drama, he plays a bad student, he looks very cute when he is acting mean and making fun of Yamaguchi. Later, he starts to listen to her and even develops a crush on her. Very cute and funny drama.

June 10, 2006 Nice CD Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
Hacken Lee's voice is wonderful as usual. The music is nice. My favorite tracks are #1,3,4,8,9. Every time I listen to track #3, it makes me laugh, especially when they go "Siu Je Nei Ho Ye". This CD gives off a good feeling. A very relaxing CD.

June 10, 2006 Very quick production Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I love the fact that Hacken Lee's early CDs are re-released in this mega-big box set. 9 CDs!!! But the production seemed to be a quick one because the CD covers looked like they were just re-scanned and ust quickly printed out. But even though this is a minor issue, the record company should spend a little more time to make the covers and lyrics books better. The most important thing is that the CDs sound good, and they sound great. Hacken Lee has a great voice.

June 10, 2006 This CD made me a Vivian fan Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Vivian Chow: "Too Involved in Love" CD, is the first CD that I bought of Vivian Chow, and it is the CD that made me a Vivian fan. I love this CD. It contains Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese songs. All are very nice. Track #1 is such a great song from the show Dao Ma Daan. I loved how she performed this song in 'The World 1995 Concert', she sang it so nice and she looked very beautiful. Her japanese songs are very good 'Sleepless Night' and 'Hug Me Now'. Vivian can sing in any language, her language skills are excellent. Her pronunciation is very good. I love listening to her CDs. I think she is the most talented Hong Kong singer. I hope all her CDs get re-released.

    June 10, 2006 Beautiful Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
This was re-released back in 2000 and it is very beautiful. There are six 3-inch CDs, each with one song, and there is a small photobook on heavy stock paper with lots of beautiful photos of Vivian. Even though these songs all appear on her CDs and compilation CDs, it is a very nice item to have in anyone's music collection for viewing and listening pleasure.

June 10, 2006 Very nice mandarin CD Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Vivian Chow's "Rumor" CD, I had this CD, played it so many times it got worn out very bad. I wish Decca Records (TW) will re-release this one and her 'Unspeakable Terms' and 'Vivian's Mind' CDs. Vivian's early mandarin CDs are very good in terms of music, lyrics and her singing. Her mandarin pronunciation is quite good. As always, Vivian sounds very sweet. She really has a very beautiful voice.

June 10, 2006 Much BETTER Sound Quality Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Vivian Chow: A Long & Lasting Love (Reissue Version), the sound quality is a lot better than the original recording. I have the original recording when it was released on CD by Polygram back in 1991 and listened to it, then I listend to this reissue version by Universal Music HK 2004, to compare the both of them, and the reissue version's quality is best.

With today's better technology for CDs, the reissue versions are really worth to get. In terms of sound, the music and singer's vocals, are both a lot clearer.

Vivian Chow's voice is very sweet and beautiful. Universal Music should re-release all of her CDs. It would be really great for her fans, especially with the new technology for CDs, it is very worth to get the reissue versions for the fantastic sound quality.

June 10, 2006 Cute boys who want to be men Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"Stand Up!" is a tv drama about four high school teenagers who want to lose their virginity by the end of summer: Shohei Asai (Ninomiya Kazunari), Kengo Iwasaki (Yamashita Tomohisa), Koji (Shun Oguri), and Hayato (Narimiya Hiroki).

Shohei Asai has a crush on the school's gym teacher. Kengo Iwasaki has a girlfriend, but she won't let him do anything with her. Hayato is very cute and likes to strum his guitar, but he tends to say the wrong things at the wrong time. Koji is kind of goofy and playful, but cannot seem to find a real girlfriend, his girl "pen pal" already has a boyfriend and she doesn't mind to be his sex friend as long as he understands that she has a boyfriend and that he cannot be her boyfriend. To make matters more difficult for them, their parents are always watching them, following them and not allowing them to have sex.

Shohei Asai is sweet and shy. When his childhood friend, Chie, (Suzuki An) comes to stay at his home for summer vacation, he feels kind of awkward and uncomfortable. He hides his adult movies and books because he doesn't want to give her the wrong ideas about him. He doesn't know that Chie ran away from her town because she was cheated by a guy who just wanted to score with her, she was just a number in his line of conquests. She felt embarassed and ashamed, that is why she ran away and came to Shohei Asai's home, telling him and his family that she is in town for summer vacation. This situation makes Shohei Asai and his friends think about making love with the right person and not wanting to hurt anyone.

These four guys really want to make love very badly. They think of many ways to try to find someone to make love. They even got on the internet and wrote letters to girl "pen pals"... and asked the girls to meet with them for a rendezvous.

"Stand Up!" is a very funny drama about young teenagers with raging hormones wanting to find the person they like to make love to.

    June 9, 2006 Vivian's Best Compilation Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Vivian Chow: Back for You (3CD+DVD) is the best compilation of her songs from the beginning of her music career to the time she retired. Wow! It contains 48 songs (each CD contains 16 songs) and the DVD contains 10 music videos. Out of all her compilation CDs, this is the ultimate compilation. The sound quality is excellent (better than the original recordings from her individual CDs dated back in the 1990s). Best part, it includes her japanese songs. Her japanese pronunciation is very very very good. The DVD picture and sound quality is excellent. A few of the music videos that appeared on her "Because of You" 2 VCD set, that do not appear on her other music video karaoke discs - appears on this DVD... for example, the music video (track #6) has her wearing the famous Palace Series dress (which is a very sexy and revealing dress) which was a big talk back in those days and still today.

The packaging is very convenient. The cardboard box folds open and you slide the discs out. The lyrics book is on high quality stock paper, on the front cover there is a beautiful photo of Vivian wearing a crown. And inside there are a few new photos of Vivian, which I haven't been seen before... very beautiful.

I love this compilation, along side with her Vivian Chow Best Selection Collection. Vivian Chow: Back for You (3CD+DVD) is a true collector's gem.

June 3, 2006 Who is the Cat on the Rooftop? Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
"Rooftop Room Cat" is about Jeong-Eun (Jung Da-Bin) who has big dreams and hopes to make something of herself in the city of Seoul in Korea. She had finished high school and would love to attend a good college, but she cannot afford it. She delivers newspapers in the early morning and peels garlic, with this money she earns from these little jobs, she saves it and hopes to move out on her own. But one day, her little brother takes the money and spends it all. And to make matters more unpleasant, her family is moving out of Seoul. Jeong-Eun meets Kyung-Min (Kim Rae Won) at a college (where she is not a student of, but she goes their to read and study in the library). At first, they have misunderstandings about each other. Kyung-Min finds out that Jeong-Eun is friends with & were former high school classmates with Hye-Ryun (Choi Yoon Jin). Kyung-Min has a major crush on Hye-Ryun, but Hye-Ryun cannot stand him. He wants to score points with Hye-Ryun, so he starts to treat Jeong-Eun nice, so that Jeong-Eun can say good things about him to Hye-Ryun. Jeong-Eun thinks he is a nice guy, but later finds out that he is only using her.

Kyung-Min had lent money to Jeong-Eun. When he has no place to go, he goes and lives with Jeong-Eun. She does not want him to live with her, but she let's him because he lent her the money. If is wasn't for his money, she wouldn't be living there. He is very bad, he takes her hard earned money and spends it to buy presents for Hye-Ryun.

Jeong-Eun meets a man (Lee Hyun-Woo) who is the boss of an advertising company. She meets him in the park. She is frustrated with Kyung-Min because he used her. She had made 2 lunch boxes, 1 for her and 1 for Kyung-Min. But since she cannot give it to Kyung-Min, she gives it to this boss. Later, they meet again when she goes for a job interview at his company.

Jeong-Eun has a crush on Kyung-Min. Kyung-Min likes Hye-Ryun. Hye-Ryun likes the boss. The boss likes Jeong-Eun. OMG, with all these different crushes, who will end up with who?

Many times I wished Jeong-Eun will go with the boss of the advertising company. I think Lee Hyun-Woo is very handsome and his character is very nice. Kyung-Min is very conceited and arrogant. He only thinks about himself. Is he the cat on the rooftop? Because he is always mooching off of Jeong-Eun.

June 3, 2006 The 1970s tv show is better Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
I watched this "Charlie's Angels" movie starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu and I think it was okay. It had a lot of fight scenes and the angels wore sexy outfits while fighting. But I think the movie was kind of rigid and not too interesting. The 1970s television show which starred Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and Farrah Fawcett (later replaced by Cheryl Ladd) is much better - they are much prettier and sassier than the new angels.

"Fallen Angels" which stars Leon Lai, Kaneshiro Takeshi, Charlie Yeung, Michelle Lee and Karen Mok. Is a very good artistic movie. I enjoyed the scenes very much. I have watched this movie in the Cantonese (which the original language of the movie) and it is very good. This Taiwan version is dubbed in Mandarin, which is alright. But I prefer the Cantonese version.

June 3, 2006 Season 3 is the Last Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Wonder Woman - Season 3 is the last of this wonderful television show based on the comic by DC Comics. In season 3, Wonder Woman engages in brand new adventures. Just cannot get enough of watching her change from Diana Prince into Wonder Woman. In season 3, you don't get to see that much of Steve Trevor's son (Lyle Waggoner), basically Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince has the most on-screen time. I like that Major Steve Trevor and his son have always had a good colleague and friendship with Diana Prince. How come Steve Trevor and his son never realize that the Diana Prince is Wonder Woman? Don't they notice that whenever Diana Prince is not present, Wonder Woman takes her place? I always liked the subtle feelings that Steve Trevor and his son has towards Diana Prince. I wished that love story was more developed. I wish the season had ended with a love story between them, that he tells Diana how he feels about her, and that she feels the same way about him. Too bad, it didn't end like that. But this show is still great.

    June 3, 2006 Wonder Woman (Season 2) Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Wonder Woman - Season 2 is better than Season 1. Season 1 focuses a lot on the 1940's and the fight against the Nazis in World War II.

In Season 2 - is more modern and updated. The show pushes about 35 years into the future, to the year 1977. Wonder Woman has not changed in terms of outer appearance, she still looks the same as she did back in the 1940s (that's because she's an Amazon and has a LONG life span), she has gotten stronger and wiser. Wonder Woman once again assumes the identity of Diana Prince and is a secret agent for the IADC working side-by-side with Major Steve Trevor's son (played by Lyle Waggoner) to fight against the nuclear war and protect mankind.

Season 2 is better in terms of the variety of stories and situations that Wonder Woman experiences. Also the 1970s clothes looks better than her clothes in the 1940s. Season 1 just kept focusing on World War II and the Nazis, which gets a bit boring after a while. Season 2 is a nicer. But for those who love Wonder Woman, all the seasons are worth to watch.

June 3, 2006 Very cute Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"Minami-kun no Koibito" ('Minami's Lover') is about two high school sweethearts: Chiyomi (Fukada Kyoko) and Minami (Ninomiya Kazunari) who go to a Chinese restaurant after school to have noodles. They both enjoy their noodles and then each have a fortune cookie. Chiyomi's fortune says that if she stays will Minami, great things will happen for him. The both of them must always be together. But if they part, then it will not be good. One day, they break up and Chiyomi falls into the ocean. When she wakes up, she is a miniature, she is even small than a bird. She manages to find Minami, he is shocked when he sees her. He takes her to his home and tries to figure out a way to try to help her to restore her back to her normal size. He takes care of all her needs and protects her by not letting anyone know what happened to her.

Ninomiya Kazunari is very cute in this drama. As a sweet, shy, average student, who is always trying his best. Fukada Kyoko is very sweet, as like in most of her past roles. I think this drama is very cute, but wish the ending was different.

June 3, 2006 Pretty good tv drama Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
"Boku dake no Madonna" ('You are my only Madonna) is a tv drama about Suzuki Kyoichi, a junior in college, studying architecture, living by himself in an old apartment building. One day, when he goes home, he finds a girl sleeping on his bed. Her name is Surumi (Hasegawa Kyoko). Kyoichi thinks he is dreaming, but when he turns to look, she is not there. He cannot stop thinking about her. He does not fully concentrate in class. Every night, when he goes home, he hopes to get a chance to see her again.

Kyoichi eventually sees Surumi again and again and again. She keeps going to his apartment every night, always sitting in front of the window, looking at the apartment across from them. She has a crush on an established architect who lives in that apartment. But he already has a girlfriend. At the same time, Kyoichi has developed a crush on Surumi. In order to fill her empty void and frustration that the architect already has a girlfriend, she hangs out with Kyoichi. She is always playing mind games with Kyoichi and never takes him seriously. She makes him take her out, and he thinks she likes her. One day, Kyoichi tells her "Surumi, I like you." And she replies, "Thank you." He thought she likes him, but that is all she can say in response to his love & affection towards her?

Surumi tells Kyoichi that she is already married. He does not believe her. He thinks it is another one of her tricks (another mind game). But it is true. And she is getting a divorce from her husband.

One day, Surumi runs off and Kyoichi hasn't seen her for days. Even though she didn't treat him very well, he cannot help but miss her and wish to see her.

This drama is pretty good. There are some nice moments when Surumi and Kyoichi are going out and having a good time, like there are no worries in the world. Takizawa Hideaki really looks like a college student, very cute and innocent. Hasegawa Kyoko is very pretty and I like the hippy clothes she wears.

June 3, 2006 Will Keep You Watching Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
"Majo no Jouken" is a tv drama about forbidden love between a 25-year-old high school math teacher, named Michi (Matsushima Nanako) and a 17-year-old student, named Hikaru (Takizawa Hideaki, aka Tackey). Michi is already engaged to a salaryman, she is not really sure if she wants to marry him. All she knows is that this is what her family will want. Hikaru is a troubled kid who is having problems at home and has been expelled numerous times from school. He is transferred to the school where Michi teaches.

One morning, Michi comes out of her boyfriend's place, after he had asked her to marry her (in a very unromantic and cold manner), she is walking in the street dazed. Hikaru is speeding on his motorcyle and the two of them collide. When Michi looks at him and he looks at her, she is overcome by a strange feeling. Then she discovers that he is transferred to her school and is her student. The more time they spend together outside of school grounds, they start to have strong feelings for each other. Later, they fall in love and have a romantic night at the school library. She cancels her engagement with her boyfriend. When she is forced to resign from the school, she declares her love for Hikaru in front of the entire school. Her parents (esp. her father) are disappointed and feel anger & shame. Hikaru's mother is against his relationship with Michi and try to send him to America to go to school. But nothing can separate and nothing can destroy the love between Michi and Hikaru.

"Majo no Jouken" is a very interesting drama about falling in love for the right reasons, but is not approved by society. This drama was so good, can finish watching it in one day. And then want to watch it again and again.

"Yume de Aimasho" is a tv drama which stars Yada Akiko and Oshio Manabu. Oshio plays a dentist and Yada plays the dental assistant. Yada is living with her father and grandmother. She is independent and likes to concentrate on her job & other goals. She has no immediate plans to marry. But then one day, she starts to have feelings of wanting to get married. In her search for the ideal partner, she is finding it a little more difficult than she thought.

The story is very simple. Sometimes it is somewhat boring. It's a good thing that Yada Akiko is a good actress and she makes the scenes & dialogue interesting. If it wasn't for her, I don't think I would have finished watching this drama.
