Jerry For You (2nd Version) (CD+VCD) (Taiwan Version)

May 30, 2006 Quite impressiveJerry Yan's singing skills has greatly improved since his beginning days with F4. Now, he sings with more range. Before he used to sing with just one monotonous range, it sounded cute, but he had needed improvement. And this solo CD album proves that he has improved and matured in his singing. There are 2 fast fun catchy tracks: "I Want It Now" and "Fantasy". His English is quite sexy sounding. The rest of the tracks are slow songs, in which Jerry sings with deep feeling. And the VCD with the music videos are nice. I had gotten the copy that came with a calendar that has very nice photos of Jerry. It is said that Jerry and Sony Music spent a few years working on this album and it is really worth the wait. Because they produced an amazingly wonderful solo debut Jerry Yan CD album.

To Miss With Love

May 29, 2006 Cute, Sweet, Funny"To Miss with Love" is one of my favorite Jimmy Lin movies, he was really a cute & popular teenager back then. Sharla Cheung (Cheung Man) plays a teacher named Miss Cheung, who has to teach a bunch of mischevious students. Among the mischevious students are: Dicky Cheung, who is the worst truant of all. And he has a secret crush on Miss Cheung. He tries to flirt with her and even dresses up as a lady, pretending to be his sister so that he can have dinner with her. The other students are: Jimmy Lin, Nicky Wu, Athena Chu. And the very annoying school guardian is played by Richard Ng, who also has a crush on Miss Cheung. The students are always cheating on their exams, but when they get used to Miss Cheung and her clever teaching style, they stop cheating and start learning and doing the classwork & taking the tests by themselves.
A really funny, feel good movie. Makes a person want to go back to high school... NOT!!! But it gives a good feeling and remembering those high school days.

Forever Friends
May 29, 2006 Friendship movie"Forever Friends" is a funny movie about life in the army, making friends, facing hardship, and overcoming one's own fears. Nicky Wu has to train a bunch of boys who are the lowest ranking soldiers-in-training and try to turn them into soldiers-of-men, mean, lean, fighting machinese. I enjoyed the performance of Kaneshiro Takeshi, Jimmy Lin and Alec Su. There were some funny jokes and scenes in this movie.

May 29, 2006 Track #5 is best
The only track that I really liked is #5 Ming Ming Bai Bai Wo De Xin (My Transparent Heart) which he sang with a lady - sorry don't know her name, she has a very lovely voice. The rest of the songs are okay. As for his singing... no comment. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

May 29, 2006 Classic 1980's action movie"City Hunter" is a classic 1980's Jackie Chan comedy action movie. It is based on the famous Japanese comic "City Hunter" by Tsukasa Hojo. That is why when you watch this movie, the characters names are Japanese. I like this movie a lot, one of my favorite movies. And it has a great cast: Joey Wang, Chingmy Yau, Eric Kot, Jan Lam, Leon Lai.

Hearts, No Flowers
May 29, 2006 very bad qualityThe movie is so-so, not interesting. The plot wasn't much. The VCD quality is horrible. There were a lot of skips and popping noise, with a lot of little squares on the screen. There were times that the picture froze on the screen and had to try to fast forward. Very difficult discs to play. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Polygram 24k Gold Disc Series - Alan Tam Gold Collection
May 29, 2006 Alan Tam: Polygram 24K GoldAlan Tam: Polygram 24K Gold Disc Series contains 4 gold CDs which contains 60 of his hit songs. But there are many other great songs that do not appear on these discs, especially some great ones that are from his "Root of Love" and "Love Trap" CDs that are not here. I think this 4-CD set is good for those who are not familiar with Alan Tam. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
May 29, 2006 Cover & photobook r attractive
When Athena Chu came out with this CD "Athena in Maldives", I was curious and excited. I have watched Athena in movies and enjoyed her acting. I bought a copy to check out if she is as good a singer as actress. The songs are okay, not the best tunes. As for her singing, it needs a lot of work. The only thing that is attractive is the CD cover and photobook. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
King Of Comedy
May 29, 2006 Funny from begining to end"King of Comedy" is a funny movie that will keep you laughing from the beginning to the end. Stephen Chow plays a struggling actor who falls in love with a club hostess, name PuiPui (Cecilia Cheung). This is the first acting debut of Cecilia Cheung and she lights up the screen with her innocent sweet looks. Karen Mok plays a famous action movie actress, who falls in love with Stephen Chow, but gets frustrated when she finds out that he already has a girlfriend (PuiPui). Richard Ng is also in this movie and he is very funny too.

Twelve Nights
May 29, 2006 GoodI have watched "Twelve Nights" several times and it is a good movie about what happens to two people who don't know each other too well, getting into a quick relationship. Jeannie (Cecilia Cheung) thinks her boyfriend Johnny (Ronald Cheng) is cheating on her with a foreigner and breaks up with him. Alan (Eason Chan) breaks up with his controlling girlfriend (Nicola Cheung). Jeannie and Alan immediately get together. At first, they enjoy each other's company and making love. But when the infatuation starts to wear off, they start to see each other's shortcomings. Alan starts to boss Jeannie around, telling her what to wear and how to act. Jeannie is too caring about Alan, she runs errands for him and even buys underwear for him. She will call him several times in one night and suggests the both of them marry the next day. Alan finds this to be annoying and feels suffocated. They both cannot stand each other and break up. Several months pass by and they meet each other at a cafe, they re-start their relationship again. Jeannie's company is transferring her to a branch in Hawaii, Alan decides to go with her, but Jeannie realizes that she made a mistake in breaking up with her ex-boyfriend Johnny because he tells her that he didn't go out with any foreigner, that she was his only girlfriend.
The story is pretty good. People who don't know each other too well, should not rush. If people have a trusting relationship, they would not jump to conclusions and make assumptions. Issues in a relationship should be discussed calmly & honestly so that they don't lead to misunderstandings.

Summer Breeze Of Love (US Version)
May 29, 2006 Okay"Summer Breeze of Love" is an okay movie about 2 best friends KiKi and Kammie (Charlene and Gillian of Twins) who both want to have a boyfriend by the end of summer. KiKi falls for a guy who she thinks is cool, but turns out to be a player and a jerk. Kammie's brother (Roy Chow) has a crush on KiKi and wants to have a relationship with her. But Kiki just wants to be friends with him. Kammie falls in love with one of KiKi's father's old classmates (Dave Wang). Dave feels he is too old for her and feel they have too many differences & would not make a good couple. But Kammie is persistant and pursues him.
Also starring in this movie is Shine, Roy Chow, Wyman Wong. I thought this movie is okay. It is a light movie, not much serious stuff about young people having summer romances and experiencing broken hearts and finding love again. I don't like the pairing of Dave and Gillian, even though the story says an older man falling in love with a much younger girl. I think it is kind of too much of an age difference. It would have been better if Gillian would to have Edison Chen paired up with her so that her character can be with a boy closer to her age. But too bad Edison Chen was not hired for this movie.

My Wife Is 18 (US Version)
May 29, 2006 Good story"My Wife is 18" has a good story. About a 30 year-old psychology student in England, named Cheung (Ekin Cheng) and an 18 year-old high school student who attends an all girl school, named Yoyo (Charlene Choi). They are both set up by their families to get married. Yoyo is very perky and lots of boys like her. Cheung keeps trying to write a thesis about woman, but the three women professors do not accept his theories and ideas, and he does not get passed. When Cheung meets Yoyo and they get married, they have an agreement to divorce after one year, and she becomes his study for his thesis. Cheung goes to Hong Kong and lives with Yoyo so that he can observe her.
I think the story is good. Charlene is cute and perky as like in her other movies. Ekin is okay, his acting is ordinary. I don't really like the pairing of Ekin and Charlene. Even though the story says that Cheung is older than Yoyo by twelve years, I just don't like the pairing of them.

Love Undercover 2 - Love Mission (2DVD Special Edition)

May 29, 2006 Not as good as the first"Love Undercover 2- Love Mission" is not as good as "Love Undercover". The story for this sequel is very cluttery and the writers tried to do something like Mission Impossible. Fong Lai Kuen's reaction and in doing things is more exaggerated than the first movie. I tried to watch it again and it was hard. I gave this movie to a friend, who watched it and gave it to another friend to watch. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

Dry Wood Fierce Fire (US Version) DVD Region All
(45)Our Price: US$10.99Usually ships within 1 to 2 daysMay 29, 2006 Miriam is the Queen of LaughsMiriam Yeung is the queen of laughs. In "Dry Wood Fierce Fire" she plays a girl named Alice who works at a female magazine which has to merge with a male magazine. The co-editor of the male magazine is Ryan Lee (Louis Koo). When Alice first sees Ryan, she immediately develops a crush on him. But Ryan has a crush on Michelle (Flora Chan) who is their new boss.
Alice's family has been in the holistic chinese medicine business for four generations. She helps heal her co-workers and she knows kung fu. Ryan is a pretty boy on the outside, but he is physically very weak.
One day, Alice helps Ryan to flatter Michelle to get her to take photos. After this, Ryan started to ask Alice to help him with buying a necklace for Michelle. Later, helping him to paint and re-furnish his apartment. No matter how hard Alice tries, Ryan has a strong crush on Michelle. But when Alice leaves the magazine, Ryan realizes that he needs her.
This movie is good. It is about falling in love with someone for their good heart & good personality and not just for their looks. At first I wasn't really sure about the pairing of Miriam and Louis because I was very used to watching her with Daniel Wu. But after watching this movie a few times, Miriam and Louis is quite a good pair.

May 29, 2006 Fong Lai Kuen"Love Undercover" made me a fan of Miriam Yeung and Daniel Wu. I love Miriam's character Fong Lai Kuen, who is a not-so-smart but good-hearted officer. Daniel's father is an ex-triad king pin. Fong Lai Kuen is to go undercover to see what Daniel's father is up to these days. Fong Lai Kuen at first was stern and strict towards Daniel, that's because she has a crush on a fellow officer. But as time passes, and Daniel acts very gentlemanly and nice to her, she can't help but fall in love with him.
Miriam and Daniel are very funny in this movie. I also watched 'Love Undercover II', but I prefer this first "Love Undercover" the story is better.

Summer Holiday
May 29, 2006 Cute movieSummer shows a tough and ambitious personality at the office, but this gets her into trouble. Plus to add to her already frustrations, her boyfriend breaks up with her. She decides to go to Malaysia where her cousin owns a hotel by the beach. When she arrives, she discovers that her cousin gave half of the hotel to pay off a gambling debt. The half of the hotel belongs to a guy named Momocha. Summer thinks Momocha is a country hick with no education who only cares about swimming in the ocean and spending all day lazing around on the beach. Momocha is actually a well-known architect who lives in New York. Summer wants to sell the hotel, but Momocha does not.
Summer later finds out that her best friend and her ex-boyfriend were lovers for 2 years. This hurt her deeply to know that her best friend and ex-boyfriend cheated her for so long. Then later when she discovers that Momocha didn't tell her about his true identity, she got hurt again. But Momocha never lied about his feelings for her. Summer leaves Malaysia and got a good job in Tokyo, Japan. Momocha keeps chasing after her by numerous emails. Then one email, he says he agrees to sell the hotel. This is his only hope to see her again.
I love this movie, it is very cute and romantic. Richie Ren is so cute in this movie. I think Sammi and Richie have better chemistry in this movie than in 'Marry a Rich Person'. "Summer Holiday" is cuter and the story is more solid.

The Kung Fu Scholar
May 29, 2006 Very funny action comedyThe Kung Fu Scholar is a very funny action comedy. I like the part when Vivian Chow and Dicky Cheung act as Jade Girl and Golden Boy, they dance and sing together. This scene happens because Dicky's character sees Vivian and daydreams about being with her. Very cute. Aaron Kwok is dashing as a smart debonair student and hero. But at the end, it is Dicky who is the smartest student. This movie also stars Richd Ng as the quacky teacher and Yin Kin Dan as Dicky's mother. Very good comedy.

Needing You (US Version)
May 29, 2006 Good Romantic ComedyThis is a good romantic comedy about two people who have had failed love relationships, working together and falling in love. Kinki already had 3 boyfriends who all lied and cheated on her, now her 4th boyfriend is lying and cheating behind her back too. Andy is a manager and he is divorced, also he has an unrequited love and that person (Leung Pui Ling) is in an unhappy marriage and wants to have a love affair with him. Kinki and Andy work together, they start to get to know each other, and even help each other out with their personal problems. I like the part when Andy goes for motorcycle lessons to impress Kinki because he is jealous that she likes a rich guy named Roger who can drive a motorcycle and has a huge collection of motorcycles. And there is a scene of double-Andy, one is Andy the manager and the other is "Wah Dee" -- Andy gets on a motorcycle and reprises his role as Wah Dee from "A Moment of Romance", this scene was only for a few seconds. It was really cool. Another funny part of the movie is when Kinki goes on a wild shopping spree at the mall and discovers her 4th boyfriend is cheating on her. Later, Andy helps her to get revenge on this guy.
A very good romantic comedy. Sammi and Andy have very good on-screen chemistry. I think they make a cute couple.

May 29, 2006 Funny
I like this movie a lot. It is very funny. Alan comes from a well-to-do family, for the summer he wants to move with his college friends and get a job. His father objects to this, saying that Alan doesn't have to get a job because they can afford to pay for his school tuition. But Alan wants to get a job to prove that he can make a difference in society. While working as a custodian (superintendent) of a residential building, and meets a girl. They both fall in love. But she thinks he is poor and he thinks she is poor. Then they find out that they are both from the same school. Very funny movie. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
