This DVD include a compilation of short clips that were put together with several diff. groups of talents to deliver a message to uplift the Hong Kong community as a whole due to the SARS epidemic. Although the message was good, the way this DVD was presented was so confusing. It kept jumping around from story to story and then it goes back and forth. Just when you start getting into it, the clip stops and the next one plays....then half hour later, it plays again but they add more to it. How confusing is that?!?! |

if you don't know anything or much about the SARS crisis that happened last spring, then watch this or have a cantonese friend translate it for you. You can't really appreciate this if you don't understand the traditions of hong kong entertainment as well as Hong Kong society itself. This compilation of shorts to lift the spirits of hong kong was very touching and at one point, I wanted to cry while Eric Tseng was talking. As scary as it was, Hong Kong's entertainers did what they could to help. |

Waste of money and time. Only one skit that was funny. I get that this is suppose to raise the spirits of the people of Hong Kong because of SARS, but I wish they did a better job in making this documentary more interesting. Wish I read the reviews before purchasing. |

OK. I know reviews in YesAsia are usually not very honest. "Oh I like this CD because she's the best!!!" and such.. but.. I was very touched by watching this DVD. I was born in hong Kong and moved to San Francisco when i was 9. However, i still have a great sense of Hong Kong pride in me. There would be times when I think people in Hong Kong would look down upon themselves and think that they would rather be Japanese or "Gwai Lo" just because they're perceived to be cooler. However, when I watched the DVD, I had felt a great sense of pride.. of people helping each other, supporting each other, and of course the people in the medical field who made miracles happen everyday. The actors were great, and with great directors in each of the short films, the end results were clear. My personal favourite is definitely "Memories of Spring 2003" and "Hong Kong Sure Win!" I think the commentary really did a good job of explaining why this DVD is necessary and why Hong Kong needs to stick together. Like one of the many slogans say in the DVD, In 2003, we love Hong Kong even more. |

In fact, SARS was a huge controversy all over the world. I intended to visit Hongkong during the summer, but because of SARS so I canceled it. At the first time I saw this 1:99, I wonder what good is a 2 mins movie. I decided to buy this cause there are bunch of my favorite acts in here, after I watched this, they didn't let me down. Every single "movie" has its own theme and is unique, they are meaningful and cheering people around the world that SARS is over. |

The clips were short
|
It'd be better if all of them had the extended versions! My personal fave were: Capriccio (Sammi, Sean, Andy) My Airline Family (Antony and this very cute kid so thats a bonus hehe) Wait Till It Delivers (Gigi, Aaron) The clips were 2 short but it was worth the money since it wasnt expensive! |
