REALLY good...
Wow... this song is :really: incredible. The lyrics are nice and simple, yet you can feel the emotion in the words. The tempo has a nice rock/latin/dance beat to it, and you can listen to it over and over again with out getting sick of it. Serious! Also, the coupling track and remixes are good too. Definate must buy...

still loving you...
Aiuchi Rina has definitely proven herself with this single. Before, she seemed to be a, "me too!" artist whose songs were merely good in vocal quality, but not compelling. I saw her for the first time on an utabangumi (music show) in Japan and was taken aback by her high pitched voice. Think early Ayumi and then add more nasal and a higher pitch. I quickly wrote her off as an artist who was trying to carve out a nitch by going along with the crowd. Imagine my surprise when I first heard this song on the Music Station Super Live 2001! a*rina was dressed in a rather strange little black dress that had a huge lamp shade-like part extending from the entire neckline. She explained that it was supposed to give an image of wings. My first thought was that she would be singing a bouncy pop song. When Navy Blue began and she hit the first chorus, I was hooked. I'm very proud to call myself one of her admirers and to give this single the perfect rating that it deserves. I think that it's great that it hit such a high position on the oricon charts. She deserves it. Rina is an artist to watch out for!

Sweet Surprise......
I totally agree with Matt Keats on this single of Rina....I was thrilled when it hit #2 on the Oricon chart during the first week of release and eventually became her biggest selling single so far...(with about 120,000 copies sold to date after 5 weeks....). It's her highest ranking single too after her Love is Thrill....which peaked at #5. I fell in love with this song the moment I listened to it...a well job done..looking forwward to her next single and I think there should be a new album soon too.....Keep it up...will see your next single peak at #1...Conrad of Syd

She's definitely climbed to the top with this one.
Aiuchi Rina (nicknamed a*rina) debuted in early 2000, and since that time, she has primarily released singles which concentrate on poppy eurobeat tunes. Her vocals are distributed evenly, not being too overblown with deepness or too high-pitched. Though her voice has always had a perfect depth to it, I believe that she shows off the most talent in this new maxi-single, Navy Blue, a ballad packed with emotion. The cover of the single purposely shows Aiuchi Rina in a more plain outfit with a solemn expression on her face to show that this song is more serious, as compared her others. She sings remorsefully about her feelings which resemble the color "Navy Blue", and the guitar is played romantically through this duration. The coupling track on this single, "Broken Heart", also contributes to its success. It gives off a slight R&B beat to pick up the pace off the first song, but it still delivers a warm sensation as a result of a*rina's sullen feelings. Finally, there are two remixes and one instrumental version of the title track. The first remix seems to be a trance version of the song, and it gives off a surreal ambiance as if you're floating over a warm sea. The second is a calm and simpler remix of the original song and it seems to further amplify a*rina's crisp voice. In all, this single is very heartwarming and it's no wonder that it hit #2 on the Oricon Countdown during the first week of its release. I'm definitely glad that she earned this ranking and has progressed so fast!
