This is a fantastic fairytale for grown-ups. A romantic summer night's dream of a man and a woman from a totally different environment, falling in love and getting happily married after all the turnoffs.
Soo-Jin is a beautiful daughter of a rich enterprise owner, President Chang, She has been studying abroad until she returns upon notice of her father's sudden illness; which has been a made-up story to get her a husband while she is back home. Yet, Soo-Jin can't stand the parties that her father organises in order to present her all the rich and famous husband candidates. Finally Soo-Jin's Mr. Duke appears before her very sight but he is far from the prototype husband that her father has in mind. This drama is a roll of intersecting love and success and what's more, love can be the most meaningful motive when it comes to young couples.

I truly enjoyed watching this drama, it was one of my favorites altho it would've been nicer if they had a good soundtrack but overall i highly recommend this. I luv the storyline & all! two thumbs up! I even bought the dvd & rewatched it a few times now. |

There are better kdramas out there. I thought it'd be a fun, upbeat drama and Choi Jiwoo's character would be witty and mischievous from her facial expression in the picture. But she was such a boring one to watch. She's got the same old innocent thing going on. The chemistry wasn't really there either. Stick with Winter Sonata if you're a Choi Jiwoo fan. |

Another great Choi Ji Woo drama

I had never even heard of this drama until I saw it advertised on this site. The two main reasons I decided to give this drama a chance were Choi Ji Woo (Winter Sonata) & Kim Seung Woo (Hotelier). I was already a huge fan of both actors and now I love them even more. This drama is funny, sweet, and very touching. I especially love the ending. And the music is very sweet & fun and fits the drama perfectly. This drama is a definite must-see for any Ji Woo fan!! |

First, did I miss something? Why is this drama series titled “Mr. Duke”? I bought this DVD since I like Choi Ji Woo after seeing her in “Stairway to Heaven” and “Celebrity Lover”. I find the drama to be too dragging at times. I know that there were funny moments with the supporting actors; otherwise, without them I really think this drama would be boring. There was no chemistry between Choi Ji Woo and Kim Seung Woo. I think one factor of that was the lack of background music. The concept was good, but it lacks a romantic factor throughout the series. |

Story is fairytale like but realistic. Ending is unusual but very creatively done. Great Job directors. Choi Ji Woo is so exquisite, well-dressed and princess-like ..yet kind and down-to-earth as a rich girl. She is not a spoiled princess for sure. Kim Seung Woo did a great job acting in this; much better than Hotelier. He looks charming in the tuxedo and can pass off as an Oxford don! The theme song, "You Can Get It If You Really Want!" is so appropriate. You will never get bored watching it for sure. |
