Naval officer Chan-Seok is sentenced to be shot to death charged with the murder of his senior officer. Recorded as dead on fake documents only, he is ordered to board the nuclear submarine called 'Ghost', which was obtained as debt from Russia and is concealed from neighbor countries. What's more, all its crew members including Chan-Seok are recorded as dead. Nobody knows about the other's background and all individuals are only referred to by code numbers. Shortly afterwards, Ghost sets out on a secret mission, but its captain, the only man knowing details about the mission is killed by deputy captain 202 just after he leaves the key to trigger nuclear weapons in Chan-Seok's care. When Ghost comes across a Japanese submarine, crossing the straits of Sushima, 202 is upset and orders an immediate torpedo attack ..

해군 엘리트 장교 이찬석(정우성 분)은 제 14차 한미합동 훈련 중 함장 이태준을 살해한 죄로 군법재판에서 사형을 언도받고 총살형에 처해진다.그러나 죽지 않고 병상에서 깨어난 그의 눈앞에는 202(최민수 분)라는 번호표를 단 장교가 찬석의 가족사진을 태우고 나간다. 그리고 죽음과 승선중 하나를 택하라는 제의를 한다.
미사일 유니트로 배치된 찬석은 같은 유니트 432(설경구 분)로부터 '유령'이 구 소련의 차관 대신 받아들인 시에라급 핵잠수함으로 일본의 핵잠수함 개발에 대응하기 위해 마련된 것이라는 사실을 듣는다. 잠수함 '유령'에 관한 모든 것은 일체 비밀에 붙여져 있다. 핵잠수함 '유령'의 승조원들은 모두 지상에서 신원이 사라진 사람들이다. 이전의 기록들은 모두 말소되었으며, 함내에서 개인적인것들은 언급하지 못할 뿐 아니라 이름조차 사용할 수 없다. 그들은 단지 번호로 불릴 뿐이다.

Action Movie Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
this is an action move which is well balanced between story and action. Often, the story can easily be drowned out by special effects etc. This movie is scarce on special effect and strong on drama.

Well acted by the cast generally. Jung Woo Sung is found without a counterpart of equal presence and stature, and therefore dominates the movie. This is no bad thing either: he can act!

s the best Korean action movie I've seen!! I really love it!! The actors were so very good, and the Director made an AWESOME job!!

Very good submarine movie Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
It's a very niced shot movie about a submarine crisis. Similar in some points to the red october, I wouldn't dare to say this is better, but it's surely far better than U-571. The plot isn't bad at all, it's very interesting. The DVD quality is very good too. I wouldn't consider it as a Masterpiece, but as a very good movie. The Korean movie market is improving very fast and this movie is a great example of this.

but the story line is so so..
worth watching the cinematology
especially first 15 minutes..
just beatiful..
two main charactors are great in it too..
