Jaurim vol.5 - All you need is LOVE

YesAsia Editorial Description

Jaurim's easy-going new pop release!

The burdensome and dismal rhythms of their earlier works are all part of the past and have been replaced by brighter more up-tempo sounds that are full of hope. Therefore, it comes as no surprise at all that the main theme of Jaurim's new release is "All You Need is Love". Main vocalist Kim Yun-a was responsible for the lyrics of Jaurim’s new exemplary tune Ha Ha Ha Song(Track 2). Its message reads as follows “Do not give up even though you may be tired of today's merciless world “. Other songs featured are the happy Welcome to the Hospital of Love(Track 3), 17171771 that highlights Kim Yun-a's superb vocals, Silicon Valley, which mocks artificial beauty(Track 9) and Social Life among overall 13 brand new tracks.

자우림만의 유쾌한 상상력으로 가득 채워진 새 앨범

자우림 5집 “All you need is Love”

Now I get it.. Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
As I big Jaurim fan..I was a little disappointed when I first heard the album....it's such a shift from their album 4...but honestly back to their original sound..more punkish and funk rock...

But after a year...I'm listening to it again...now I appreciate it more...they were I guess experimenting..but not out of touch.

It's a great album...those who enjoy the Fall Out Boy and Weezer should love this album..

Album 4 (the best in my opinion)-- you can't really compare the two; this and their previous album were meant to be different....

Only Jaurim could shift from one style of music to another and still do it great

I guess it's just me... Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
Please understand I am NOT trying to bash anyone or their taste in music. But, I did NOT like this release at all. The lead singer had been described in reviews of earlier Jaurim works as people she DOES NOT sound even remotely like. Maybe I would have preferred one of their older releases...like the #4 one...because, something in this just wasn't quite right for me. For one thing, the very first song sounds as though it should be in Spanish, not Korean. Too Latin for me...if I want Latin, I'll by Spanish-language music. The rest of the CD didn't seem to follow any coherent plan and promptly fell apart. Again, this is just me. I had wanted to love them, because I had heard such great things and what rockers they were...but, alas...my search goes on, because this just isn't the band for me. I wish them well with their rock-then-pop thing...but I think something definitely got lost in the translation of genres. I might try them one more time IF I hear their next release will be more rock and that the singer has a BIT more passion in her vocals. She sounded like she wasn't really having any fun recording this. AGAIN: Only my thoughts. I hope no one gets offended...we all hear different things, and this is MY review of what I heard with my ears.

wow... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I've only just heard of Jaurim. For a while, I was looking for Korean music that is more rock and less hip hop or slow-moving ballads. This band is a brilliant breath of fresh air with fantastic melodies and a versitility that can be compared to Shiina Ringo. Yuna Kim's voice is absolutely gorgeous (enough for me to really enjoy her solo, more "ballady" album) and the songs are all distinct from each other, unlike a lot of other Korean artists that I've heard. One of my absolute favorites. ^ ^

Jaurim scores another winner Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I have all of Aurum’s albums and solo projects (except for Chococream Rolls). The moment album 5 became available; I knew I would add it to my collection. I’m certainly glad I did! Like all their albums Jaurim experiments with different styles of music and has succeeded in created something uniquely theirs. Simply stated, no other band sounds like Jaurim! On album 5, even their ballads are up-tempo and upbeat. As always Kim Yuna’s strength as a song writer and singer is the key. While the other members of Jaurim may add their talents in composition and arrangement, it is Kim Yuna's voice, which sets this band apart. There are very few weak cuts on this album, for me from “I Saw Him?until the end (“TRUTH?; every second is a precious gift. If I have a complaint, it’s that the album only contains 42 minutes of music. Believe me, I could have listened much longer than this. This may not be Aurum’s best album (I think it’s nearly impossible to top their album #4). However, I strongly recommend, “All You Need is Love? Buy it, put it on your CD player, and then sit back and relax. You’re in for a real treat!
