What would you do if you were suddenly declared as inheriting person of a business mogul ? Kim Jung-hwa portrays ordinary teacher Da-hyung who has to confront this tempting dream-turned-reality after she helps an old man handle some problems during a ride on the subway. Shortly afterwards, she is visited by the old man's grandson Jae-in (Kang Dong-won) who informs her that he has passed away and left behind a testament. In this important document surprised Da-hyung is mentioned as sole inheritor of all the old man's riches, but that's just the beginning of this complex TV hit treat that will keep you hooked all the way.
1% of Something scored no less than 14.1% of all viewers, which is quite a feat for a series broadcast on Sunday mornings. Its success no doubt is mainly due to the exceptional performances by Korea's new heart throb Kang Dong-won that earlier starred in such hits as Too Beautiful to Lie and Temptation of the Wolf and the charming actress Kim Jung-hwa whose talented acting skills in Spy Girl have not been left unnoticed. 재인(강동원)은 자신의 능력으로 성현호텔 경영권의 반을 인수, 기획실장으로 있으면서 호텔 이름도 바꾸고 성현그룹으로부터의 독립을 꿈꾸고 있었다. 그런데, 뜬금없이 할아버지의 새 유언장이 등장한 것이다. 그런데 그것이 상속권이 아니라 어떤 여자를 사귈 수 있는 권리 1순위란다. 그럼 그 여자는? 할아버지는 생판 처음 듣는 이름의 그 여자에게 모든 재산을 상속하겠단다. 게다가 그 여자와 결혼하는 사람에게 재산의 행사권을 준다니. 도대체 말이 안 되는 소리다.
다현(김정화)을 찾아간 재인. 황당한 것은 이 여자가 이 엄청난 사실을 전혀 모르고 있다는 것이다. 더군다나 돈벼락을 맞았다고 아무리 이야기해도 이 여자는 “관심 없다”고 잘라 말한다. 재인은 울며 겨자 먹기로 할아버지께 “그녀를 보호할 것이며, 앞으로 10개월 간 그녀와 성실히 사귀어보겠다”는 서약하고... 둘은 연애라기보다 전쟁에 가까운 만남을 계속한다.
변호사의 공증까지 거친 계약서로 시작한 재인과 다현의 교제. 사귀면서 서로에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히는 계기는 되지만 아직도 두 사람의 입에서 나오는 말은 험하기만 하다. 성격차이, 자라온 환경 등 여러 이유로 위기와 극복의 과정이 거듭된다. 그러다 재인은 특별한 다다(다현에 대한 애칭)를 그리워하고, 다현이도 비슷한 지경에 이르게 되는데...

If you have seen Phoenix and got frustrated by the 7 long episodes of its pathetic ending...This time, you would get exhausted in the last 5 episode of happy ending... the series stopped becoming entertaining after the obvious conflict was resolve! HELLO? well, my suggestion is to watch this funny series then just dont finish it... its not gonna make a diffrence anyway. |

This was one of my favourites in late 2004/early 2005. It is funny, touching and romantic. It was like watching beauty taming the handsome but arrogant beast. Very satisfying indeed. Love both male and female leads. Very light hearted and enjoyable. A great way to de-stress without draining your emotions. Enjoy it. |

The best romantic comedy
|
This is the best Korean romantic comedy I've ever watched. Kang Dong Won & Kim Jung Hwa are such a cute couple. Hope they will release this series in DVD with English sub. Highly recommended! |
