YesAsia Editorial Description
Hajime Chitose needed a two-year break that has blessed her with marital bliss and a child. For her new album Hanadairo she got professional help from such top artists as Matsutoya Yumi (a.k.a., Yuming), Matsutoya Masataka, and Okamoto Sadayoshi from the duo Coil. As for the music on her new CD, it contains 13 songs including the end-title theme "Katari tsugu koto" (Track 12) of the TBS series anime BLOOD+. Another recommended tune on this long over due 3rd album is the theme song Haru no katami ("Spring Souvenir" - Track 6) that can be heard in the Fuji horror anime TV series ayakashi-JAPANESE CLASSIC HORROR. Last but not least, the new hit single Ao no Requiem (Track 3) that was contributed by Okamoto Sadayoshi can also be found among Chitose's promising new song entries.
This version comes with an exclusive DVD that features the PVs of "Katari tsugu koto" and Haru no katami.

A New Style
A New Style
|
This album sees Chitose move away from her typical domain of slow, sweeping ballad-types. With this album, Chitose dabbles in songs that are almost pop/rock. At first, the style seems a strange match for Chitose's voice, but the musical quickly proves itself worthy. Some of the tracks ('Haru no Katami', 'Kataritsugu Koto', 'Shinda Onna no Ko') are just like the Chitose we've seen on previous albums. And the new tracks settle in well after a few listens. While the album isn't as fantastic or amazing as her others, it's still very, very good and worth the money. The PVs on the DVD add to the value of this release (even if there is Nothing else on the DVD, the PVs are gorgeous, and it's great to see them on a large screen). Tracklist: 1) Hitsuji no Dolly 2) Maebure 3) Ao no Requiem 4) Yomihitoshirazu 5) Hanadairo 6) Haru no Katami 7) Tsuyukusa no Yoru 8) Kyooryuu no Egaki-Gata 9) Reimei 10) Amrita 11) Inori 12) Kataritsugu Koto 13) Shinda Onna no Ko |

Brilliant comeback
| Finally it's here! Hajime Chitose's third album after a long break from the industry. This album was worth the wait though, and I highly recommend this album to everyone that loves Japanese music. The three singles before this album, Kataritsugu Koto, Haru no Katami and Ao no Requiem were brilliant, and this album adds another 10 awesome tracks. I won't spoil the fun by writing about every track, but just take my word for it, it's everything you could want from a Chitose album. My personal favorite is Shinda Onnanoko, the bonus track included with the limited edition. It's a very powerful ballad about the tragedy of Hiroshima, and Chitose's awesome voice gives it that emotional edge. The packaging for the album is very pretty. The pictures of Chitose surrounded by beautiful foliage, flowers and birds really explains the meaning behind the title "Hanada Iro", which means "Light blue color", which in turn symbolizes peace. Buy this album, you won't regret it. |
