YesAsia Editorial Description
To close observers of the Korean entertainment scene, the name Kim Jung Hoon should sound familiar. He has released songs as part of the duo UN and appeared in the popular TV drama series Palace (Princess Hours). Now it's time for his debut J-pop mini-album. With tracks like the cool R&B number I'm Sorry and the jazzy Still Believe, as well as the groovy Always and Never, 5 Stella Lights is Kim's promising first step from the K-pop to the J-pop market.
This version comes with an exclusive DVD featuring MV and behind-the-scenes material as well as a special 2007 calendar.

sure, this guy is cute. and he does have a nice voice, I have to admit. But his music is so BORING. Almost all of the songs on this album were ballads, as far as I can remember. Ballads are nice, but I want variety. I think he is overrated, just like Bi or Rain or whatever. But hey, if this floats your boat, then buy it. Everyone has their own opinion. |

If I had one word to describe this album, it'll be: amazing. And no, I'm unbiased. His voice is refreshingly smooth & clear, complementing the choice of songs he picked for his first ever japanese album. I especially liked the first track, Sirius as well as the fifth track, Still Believe. The first one is an infectious ditty that refuses to leave your mind, as you find yourself humming to the rythm after a few listens. In contrast, Still believe is a heartwrenching ballad that managed to touch my heart. His voice is unbelievably crisp, his intonation is applaudable too, considering his first foray into learning the japanese language. The only shortcoming, I must say, is the lack of songs. With only 5 tracks to content with, I found myself a little disappointed by this album's offering. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this album. And you should too. Do give it a try. |

I love the music. It's very fun and jazzy. I wish there were more songs though. I was disapointed to get only five actual songs. His voice is very clear and precise, the music is upbeat and great to listen to. The calendar included in this version is interesting and of course - pictures of Jung Hoon a.k.a. "John" are always welcome! |
