Pretty good Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
This is a pretty good album, but I recommend CD-ONLY if you already own the "Crossover II" DVD. It's completely unnessary to include performances of the concert on the DVD. After all, the concert DVD is already out & the "PASIO" single already included a performance on its DVD as well. They shouldn't think of the fans she doesn't have and focus on the ones she does have. They should try to make us happy other than promoting her more by placing unnessary things on the DVD. Only has-been fans are going to spend so much for a CD+DVD edition anyway. I think more new songs should've been on this CD as well as another PV for the album. Lots of "making of" footage would've been nice too. You know, to show what she's like behind-the-scenes.

Buuut, all-in-all, this album was lovely. I really love all the tracks, especially "Dragonfly" and "PASIO"! "Ramblin'" is her best new track. It's enchanting & gorgeous. Hitomi Shimatani is one of the best vocalists not only in Japan, but in all of Asia. She's so decent & respectful too. Beautiful & elegant yet she's NEVER boring. See for yourself & buy this.

Versatile. Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
This album has a little of every genre she has experimented with - exotic, pop, latin, oriental, and of course her unique Crossover (classical) style. As the Staff's page noted, the temporary album title was "Gate&Symphony", combining her old works with her new. Because of this, the songs don't seem to "stay on the page" with the versatile genres. Those who enjoyed her Crossover genre -especially those who were introduced to her by the Crossover songs- will probably take a while to adjust to the pop songs.

There's a lack of transitions between the different genres, but they are grouped as so: pop -> crossover -> exotic/latin -> pop again. Probably interludes aren't her style. It's consisted of strong single tracks, so some of the album tracks are overshadowed by them. Overall, I think PRIMA ROSA is quite dynamic, and the staffs seem to have worked really hard to package this album. Some of the pop tracks do have string instruments, which kind of unites the pop and classical styles together. The photography is a huge improvement from H&S. Though, so many thinks that PRIMA ROSA still doesn't quite meet up with H&S yet in terms of the song qualities. I personally also think this way, primarily because I loved every track in H&S equally without a doubt. If H&S received so many praises, why the sells were so low, I will never figure it out.

Unlike the dramatic atmosphere H&S had, PRIMA ROSA is more lighthearted. The songs are quite cultural too (i.e. Puraha no Onna has a medieval touch to it).

Shimatani Hitomi is back!! Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
To start off with, I love the new album covers. A HUGE step up from H&S's. With that said, her last album was really different and truly excellent while Prima Rosa is set up more like her albums prior to H&S. By that, I mean, many different genres of music and just more upbeat in general.

The new songs on here were for the most part pretty good and definitely listenable. The only problem I had with this album was that nothing really stuck with me after I listened to it(singles excluded). I've listened to it through a bunch of times too. A good thing is that the album really flies by and nothing sticks out as awful or skipworthy.

Anyway, my favorite new songs on here are Ramblin' and Prague no Onna.

If you weren't a big fan of H&S and wanted the old Shimatani, I'd say pick this up. If you are a big fan of H&S and not of Shimatani's other works, then I'd proceed with caution.
