It's been over a year since the three-member male band launched their third major album Swan Songs. Now it's time for their latest major release which features a fresh palette of promising artists from all sorts of music streams including rock, R&B, and techno. Among the known talents to look out for are Pe2ny, IF, DJ Zio, Paloalto, MC Meta, TBNY, Kebee, and the Quiett. The boys also got help from Kim Jung Han, a member of the rock band Nell, as well as the trio WANTED, the quartet Sweet Sorrow, and Lee Yoong Jin, the female half of the duo Casker. The principal track on Epik High's fourth full-length album, Remapping the Human Soul, is called Fan for "Fanatic" and comes with a good touch of Epik High's unique style. Filled with 27 tracks, fans can look forward to the ultimate Epik High experience.

1년이란 긴 시간동안 준비한 에픽하이의 네번째 앨범은 이 젊은 싱어송라이터들의 가장 완성된 소리이다. 에픽하이의 이번 앨범은 거대하면서도 섬세한 순수음악이다.
그동안 음악에 대한 에픽하이의 열정과 욕심이 2장의 CD에 그대로 담겨있다. 연주곡까지 포함한 27곡 모두 새롭게 작업한 신곡들로 2장의 CD에는 힙합의 뿌리에 충실한 사운드와 현 사회에 대한 고찰을 담은 첫 번째 CD와 '장르'라는 단어를 뛰어넘은 실험적인 사운드와 인간의 감정들을 관찰하는 두 번째 CD로 구성돼있다.
주변의 많은 실력파 아티스트들과의 유대도 여전히 돋보이는데, Pe2ny, IF, DJ Zio, Paloalto, MC Meta, TBNY, Kebee, the Quiett등 많은 실려파 힙합 뮤지션들과, Nell의 김종완, Casker의 융진, WANTED, Sweet Sorrow 등의 타 장르 뮤지션들도 참여해 음악의 폭을 한층 더 높여주고 있다. 이번 4집 앨범에는 국내뮤지션뿐만 아니라 해외 뮤지션도 참여하여 큰 관심을 끌고 있다. ‘Crying’이란 곡으로 국내에서도 잘 알려진 m-flo 패밀리의 J-POP 보컬리스트Emi Hinouchi (에미 히노우치)가 참여하여 일본에서도 벌써부터 에픽하이 4집을 향한 큰 관심을 보이고 있다

2CD에 27곡이 수록된 이번 4집 앨범의 타이틀곡은 단어 'fanatic' (狂)의 준말로, '사랑'이란 감정이 극대화되면서 느껴지는 소외감과 고통을 표현하는 CD 2에 수록된 [Fan]이다. 전자음과 리얼음의 획기적인 조화, 구슬비와 폭풍우를 넘나드는 듯 한 자유로운 템포편곡으로 하나의 장르론 가둘 수 없는 '에픽하이 스타일'을 만들어 놀라운 발전을 보여 주고 있다.

Simply the best
Simply the best
| First of all, I have no idea how someone can NOT appreciate the mix of poetry, soul, and passion these three have put into this CD. I really can't comprehend that. I always find myself coming back time and time again to listen to Mithra's clever and complex lyrics, Tablo's mix of pain and straight talk, and DJ Tukutz's gut-wrenching mixes. I was first attracted to "Love, Love, Love" as it was the first song that I'd overheard on a friends mp3 player but after buying this album "Love, Love, Love" actually paled in comparison to Soul - Tablo and Mithra's challenge, White Knight - a glimpse into Tablo's childhood, Scapegoat - their stand on religion, and other gems. If you're looking for something sugary, pop-ish, and sweet then this CD won't be for you. If you're looking for something raw, real, and true then you're at the right place. |

great album...
| This album is worth every penny spent on it. I love Epik High's music. All their albums are great but this one stands out for daring to speak out the truth in a society that sugar-coats everything & ignores real issues. It's REAL, simply put. The lyrics are some of the best in a hip-hop album. Tablo's excellent verbal tableau always blows me away. |

Epik high went from underground to underground above ground. This band amazes me completely. If you are a fan of good music you should really buy this album, it really is Epik. You can keep playing the songs over and over again, mine is on constant repeat. -Annie |
