The ratings just keep rising for MBC's daily sitcom Unstoppable High Kick (a.k.a. Nonstop High Kick). When teen sitcom Nonstop 6: Rainbow Romance aired its last episode in November 2006, it marked the end of the long-running Nonstop youth drama franchise, which had begun to lag in ratings after years of popularity. MBC did a bit of soul searching and decided to return to the family sitcom, and the results have been stupendous, with Unstoppable High Kick bringing in television ratings of over 20% in Korea. This offbeat sitcom about a multi-generation family has been bringing laughs to viewers of all ages.

Perhaps the most unlikely star to emerge from the show is distinguished actor Lee Soon Jae who plays the grandfather, a feisty traditional medicine doctor with an amusing weakness for pornography. Veteran actress Na Moon Hee is equally hilarious as the nimble grandmother, but why is there a body under her floorboards? Meanwhile, the eldest son of the family, Joon Ha (comic mainstay Jung Joon Ha), is a jobless stay-at-home husband with a patronizing doctor for a wife (Park Hae Mi). Second son Min Yong (Choi Min Yong) is a divorced teacher caught in a triangle between his co-worker Min Jung (Seo Min Jung) and ex-wife Shinji (Shinji of Koyote in her acting debut).

For those looking to fill the void of Rainbow Romance, Unstoppable High Kick also has plenty of school-based hijinks to offer younger viewers. Young heartthrobs Kim Hye Sung (Jenny, Juno) and Jung Il Woo (The World of Silence) play Joon Ha's two sons, Min Ho and Yun Ho, respectively. Min Ho is a straight-A student who is often bullied, and Yun Ho is a delinquent with a crush on teacher Min Jung. Dysfunctional families, love triangles, and generation gaps are of course all familiar sitcom tropes, but the magic here is in the execution. With a fresh cast, quirky details, witty banter, and hilarious straight-faced slapstick, Unstoppable High Kick is a laugh-out-loud audience favorite in Korea.

Volume 1 of Unstoppable High Kick contains 17 selected episodes originally aired in November to December 2006. This Limited Edition release also comes with bonus featurettes.

<거침없이 하이킥!>은 대가족을 중심으로 전개된다. 모터사이클 마니아로, 싸움에는 능하지만 공부는 등한시하는 동생 이윤호(정일우)와, 프라모델 만들기와 미니홈피 가꾸기를 즐기며 공부가 1등인 형 이민호(김혜성). 한 살 터울이지만 고교 2학년 같은 반에 재학 중인 형제는 우리나라 청소년의 양극단을 대변한다. 명예 퇴직 후 전업 주식 투자자가 된 낙천적인 아버지(정준하)와, 매사 자신감이 넘치는 한의사 어머니(박해미), 세상에서 돈을 가장 사랑하는 한의사 할아버지(이순재), 며느리와 패권 다툼에서 늘 당하기만 하는 할머니(나문희) 등이 가족으로 등장한다. 삼촌 민용(최민용)은 스물 일곱 살의 싱글 대디로, 연애를 거듭하면서도 이혼한 아내 신지(신지)와 계속 얽히며 애매한 감정에 휩싸인다.
