J-rocker Miyavi seems a bit young to be having a 25th anniversary commemorative concert, but the title refers to not his years in the business and rather his age. Last year the eccentric artist held a five-day concert series at the Tokyo Arts Theater from September 13 to 18, centered around his 25th birthday on September 14, 2006. Miyavi has always rocked to his own beat, and his concert series, captured here on DVD, is the perfect chance to experience the innovative young artist's music.

For the concert series, Miyavi went with the dokuso or "solo" style performance championed in his Miyaviuta album, employing mainly an acoustic guitar and a gigpig (small drum set) for accompaniment. Even with such organic stripped-down sounds, the singer still keeps with his flair for visuals as he is joined on stage by tap dancers, percussionists, beat boxers, taiko drummers, and even painters. Indeed, it seems Miyavi has pioneered a completely new format of live performance, and it's one that definitely should not be missed. This DVD release contains a live recording of Miyavi's final day of performance on September 18.
