Although inspired by the Japanese creation Mazinger V, Korea's Robot Taekwon V is very much their own homegrown hero. A giant robot much like its famed Japanese predecessors, Taekwon V is an oversized robot hero fighting for justice and world peace. The benevolent Dr. Kim created Robot Taekwon V, installing his eldest son Kim Hoon as the robot's pilot. A taekwondo champion, Kim Hoon imbues Taekwon V with his own martial arts prowess in order to stop the giant robot minions of the evil Dr. Kaff, who - like all evil megalomaniacs - is looking to annex Korea and enslave all of humanity. Can Kim Hoon and Robot Taekwon stop the evil doctor from fulfilling his nefarious aims?
Released to celebrate Robot Taekwon V's 30th anniversary, this Special Edition DVD features a newly-restored DVD transfer, mastered from a print found in the Korean Film Commission in 2003. Before that, the film was considered lost, as the only available print was incomplete and in poor condition. Digitally restored, remastered, and remixed into Dolby Digital 5.1, Robot Taekwon V was reintroduced to the world at the 2005 Pusan Film Festival, setting off a wave of Robot Taekwon V mania, culminating in a successful theatrical run in early 2007. Now available on DVD with English subtitles, the original big screen adventure of Robot Taekwon V is set to thrill and inspire a whole new generation of fans!
The 2-DVD Robot Taekwon V: 30th Anniversary Restored Edition features an audio commentary track and a host of extras, including interviews, a making of documentary, trailers, plus more.

태권도 수련을 마치고 세계 선수권 대회 승리를 거머쥔 훈. 그러나 훈과 결승전을 벌였던 선수와 다른 스포츠 경기에서 패배한 선수들이 사라진다. 훈의 아버지이자 로보트태권V를 개발하던 과학자 김박사는 이 사건이 세계 과학 심포지엄에서 외모 때문에 공개망신을 당한 뒤 복수를 다짐한 천재적인 물리학 박사 카프의 소행이라 의심한다.

This is a great animation picture i really love the retro style,when i was a child my hero was the japanese cartoon "UFO Robot Grendizer" called "goldorak" in france in the late 70's,of course it has a similar aspect mostly for the colours,and reminds me a lot the japanese robot,but also the cartoon is very diferent of japanese cartoons and have his own style,i really enjoyed the movie and make me smile a lot(im a taekwondo student),this robot must be the strongest of them all (even the japanese can compete with him),thanks to his taekwondo fighting style....you will like this animated korean movie,plus this edition is really a beautiful item,the box the book,the figure,every detail is perfect...this is a must have for any respected taekwon v fan. |
