The King of Fighters XII (Japan Version) PS3

The King of Fighters series has been popular with gamers in its various arcade and console incarnations. On its 15th anniversary, the new installment is about the "rebirth of the series" and aims to be the ultimate 2D fighting game, featuring newly drawn graphics and all. The King of Fighters XII introduces some new and exciting game mechanics, like "critical counter", "clash", and "guard attack". Players can choose from 1-on-1 single fight and 3-on-3 team fight in the Versus mode, and can even challenge the best players in the world through the Online mode. Another advantage of this console version over the arcade version is that it features 22 playable characters, adding two more (Elisabeth Branctorche and Mature) to the roster. In addition, detailed character illustrations can be viewed in the Gallery mode.

XIIの新システム
- クリティカルカウンター
近距離強攻撃をもって、相手の攻撃を潰した上で発生させるカウンターヒットのシステム。
発生後、相手は特殊ダメージ状態に陥り、攻撃側は一定時間好きな攻撃を与える事が出来る。

- 相殺
強攻撃、必殺技、超必殺技がぶつかり合った時に発生し、お互いの攻撃を打ち消し合い、従来よりもさらにテンポの良い駆け引きを発生させる。

- ガードアタック
相手の攻撃の返し方が分からない時。逆に追い詰められた相手が暴れてくるのを見切った時。そんな時、相手の攻撃を無効化し、反撃を行うことが出来る。

- 家庭用新要素
ユーザーのレベルに合わせた2つの入力モード。キャラ、イラスト等の鑑賞モードなど。

- ゲームセンターを彷彿させる「オンライン対戦」
オンラインルーム内には待ち行列が実装され、ゲーセンさながらの雰囲気を演出。対戦待ちの間は、対戦中のユーザーの観戦が行える、観戦機能を搭載。ルーム内のコミュニケーションを行うためにチャット機能を搭載。

- ネットワークでの新しいコミュニティ機能
「クラン」・・・プレイヤー間の交流を深めるために「クラン」を利用したコミュニケーション機能を搭載。クラン掲示板、クランチャレンジ等を利用してクラン戦を楽しむことも可能。
「フレンド」・・・ルーム内にある「フレンドスロット」を設定する事で、ルーム内に友人を招待する特別枠を設ける事が可能。
