Great Comeback or Introduction Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
For many, Elva is a comeback queen, a diva striking back after a 1087-day hiatus. For many others, though, this CD serves as a great introduction to a girl whose vocal pipes and natural dancing prowess have clearly made her a star.

The techno-esque dance tunes on this CD (notably, LoVe, Biao Bai [Confess My Love], and Dai Yan Ren [Spokesperson]) are undeniably catchy; other slightly less infectious tracks have a Western R&B feel to them (of course, this could reflect my personal taste). Elva's real edge, though, lies in her ability to pull off both dance tunes and soulful ballads equally well... her voice is adorably sweet in Honey Honey Honey (written for her by Taiwanese superstar Wang LeeHom) and deeply emotional in Bu Yuan [Not Far].

This CD does NOT, however, score higher marks from me precisely because of the DVD. I would have much preferred the standard MV DVD that typically accompanies Commemorative Editions of CD's... anyone who's seen any of Elva's MV's off this album would definitely agree. The girl can SERIOUSLY dance-- she even injured herself while filming Dai Yan Ren [Spokesperson]-- the dance steps are really that complicated and difficult! Instead of MV's, however, her company chose to release footage of her sick. :(

You don't want to miss out on this CD, but I would recommend a different edition of it (if possible/available)...

Lots of Talent Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
Elva Hsiao is absolutely the diva of Taiwanese Pop Music. There is no doubt about that. The girl can sing her heart out. She's got a lot of talent and her own personal style. She's got a terrific voice. And a magnificent sex symbol. 1087 contains a variety of music styles. I think she is trying to experiment with different kinds of music for fun. This CD is most likely meant to be fun and it may not be suitable for everyone's taste. The tracks I liked #1,2,3,6,7,11. In my opinion this is an interesting CD. Another addition to my Elva Hsiao collection. I can't wait for her next CD to see what she does.

Elva Hsiao's 1087 cd+dvd, i waited it anticipation for the release of this cd for such a long time. when i finally got it i ripped the package open first played the dvd and then played the cd. the dvd was awful. it show her when she was sick with the cold. due to her cold, when she talk cannot understand what she is saying. it show her make a mistake in her concert and she keep saying she feel shame about it. ok thought no problem so what the dvd is bad. maybe cd is good. so listen to the cd one time and then think listen again to make sure how i feel. OMG! it is bad! huge disappointment. Biao Bai is not that good. it repeat itself too many times have a dizzy feeling. the songs are NOT that special or great. should have avoided this cd.

VERY BORING Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
even though she experiment with different genres of music, this cd is VERY BORING. i listen to her before in her other cds and her singing is good. and the music was good. this new cd called 1087 of Elva is BORING. only have few good songs. i only like track #1, 5, 7. all other sucks bad. and the dvd sucks too. it is BORING. the dvd is bad! 20 minutes show her in December 2005 when she have concert in Taiwan. just talking about her feelings of disappointments and how she hope to improve better. this was waste of time and money. i got too depressed.

it is OK Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
the first time i heard Elva's first album - i immediately instantly fell in love with her beautiful voice. in her early CD albums her Mandarin is clear as a whistle and the music was fun to the max. all her albums with her previous record company were all top notch albums. love all of them. now she has switched to Warner and my experience as a music fan is i've always felt the music produced by Warner have given me mixed lukewarm feelings. i'm not a real huge fan of Warner's music. BUT i love Elva's voice and her style and those are the reasons that got me to buy this 1087 CD album. i had a feeling i was going to have some regrets getting it and after listening to the album i am disappointed. i had high hopes and expectations from her.

the tracks i find worth listening to more than once are Biao bai, Honey Honey Honey, Bu yuan, LoVe, Wo de nan peng you. as for the rest of tracks are bland and the lyrics are dull.

Worth the 1087 Days of Wait!! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Once again, Elva never disappoint!
This album is great with a good number of upbeat songs.
Like what Elva promised, she wants to Have Fun with this album and similiarly, spread it to her fans.

Biao Bai was a good start to the album.
I personally feel that this is a rather dangerous song as one might sound monotonous singing it.
But with Elva's singing techniques, she did not sound monotonous and did a good job with it!

The Lee Hom penned 'Honey Honey Honey' brought out the cheery side of Elva.
Lee Hom is really one genius and the collaboration between them is just wonderful!
Especially like the beats in this song, you'll just move to it very naturally.

Another song to look out for i LoVe.
Very interesting lyrics and it reflects how girls are more than just being material.
"What you see is what you get, LOVE with respect"
I believe everyone who've listened to this album will get stucked to this phrase :p

I always look forward to the musical arrangements in Elva's album.
And once again, i'm listening to this album again and again with its fantastic musical arrangements.

Something to note is that, Elva really improve a lot in her vocals!
Bu Yuan is one track that presents her vocals wonderfully.
She brought out the song so effortlessly nice.

All in all, this is really one good album.
It'll easily make it to my Top 10 Album for 2006.
And what a good way to end the year with such a great album!

With more and more newbies flooding the industry, good singers like Elva are hard to come by.
There's been way too much bad things that descended upon Elva.
Hopefully, she'll get out of all the bad luck and may everything goes well for hardworking and talented Elva! :)

nice Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
Nice. That's really how i would sum up the whole album. It's not terrible yet neither is it great.

There are many catchy addictive tracks in this album which are mainly upbeat pop/dance.

Biao Bai is a very repetitive song but thats what makes it addictive with its funky beats.
Much of her music is heavily american influenced, (but recording the entire album in the US it comes as no surprise) which u can hear in the songs such as Ran Hou, l.o.v.e

Good tracks would include Honey Honey Honey written and produced by the talented wang leehom and elva herelf..its a chill out song perfect for the car.
'Free' is a great rocky song with cool beats.
'You and Me' is very different from the rest and one of my favourites as well as the bonus track.

Her slower tracks are much better at showing her vocal talent and what a soothing voice she has..yet some of them come across a bit boring..

overall a good album although i had expected a bit more from her as she's had 3 years since her last release.

Terrific CD Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Elva is still an amazing artist, perhaps even more so then ever. I enjoy most of the tracks, as they stay true to the characteristics that we love in Elva's songs. But you have to listen for yourself to hear the greatness. You will not be disappointed.

There's a secret bonus song that starts 1 minute after track 12 finishes playing. It's Elva's version of the "Numa numa" song. I thought it was a nice surprise =)
