"200 Pounds Beauty" tells the story of a girl who may look beautiful on the outside, but still lacks that self-esteem and the confidence in herself that no amount of surgery can give you...! It explores the harsh reality of the stereotypical attitude towards fat people - giving it an entertaining yet sympathetic edge as we get to know "Jenna/Hanna" in both lights...A story which truly explores the llife of a woman, who just wants to be loved for who she is...!

A fantastic movie with a great soundtrack. Kim Ah-Joong proves that she is not only a brilliant actress but a super singer as well!!!~
And the guy ain't half bad either! ;)
Recommended! A definite good buy ~

I was bored and needed a good movie to watch -- I came across this one. The title seemed interesting and caught my attention. It was a very touching movie and got me crying towards the end. Probably one of the better Korean movies out there.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This movie is both good and bad. It points out a truth in life. it's all about looking good, that's how you get free things in life, which is kind of true. Have you ever seen an ugly person on stage?

However it's sad that life is like this, also coming from Korea where many people care too much about how they look. Also the subject "platic sugery" something Korea is fameous for of doing well!
Still as it shows in the end!? She wasn't happy since she wasn't herself anymore. She looked good and people liked her.. but isn't people supposed to like you because you are you?! Isn't that how you say?!

The movie makes you laugh at the same time, as you get angy and think what kind of crap is this!?
But in all it shows how life in todays society is and probably will be in the future as well.

After watching "200 pounds Beauty", I decided to introduce the movie to my friends. It was a gesture they really appreciated as everyone agreed: IT WAS FUN WATCHING THE MOVIE. The story also makes us realize that Beauty is always within. We do not need to looking stunningly attractive and sexy to make people like us. It is always the character in the person that eventually make one more beautiful each day. Now that there is a plan for a sequel, we just can't wait....

"200 Pounds Beauty" turned out to be much more than I expected. I expected to see silly, slapstick comedy, without much substance. And, yes, there are some good laughs in this film. But at it's heart, "200 Pounds Beauty" is a poignant story of an ugly duckling who feels uncomfortable in her own skin after she becomes a beautiful swan through plastic surgery.

Kim Ah Jung is phenomenal as Hanna, the fat girl turned beauty. She touches all the right buttons: giddiness at her new appearance, joy at the male attention she now receives, discomfort with the lies she tells to hide her past, and despair as she feels that she no longer knows who she is. It is a complex and moving performance by a fine young actress ... who just happens to be astonishingly lovely.

I recommend "200 Pounds Beauty" very highly for a general audience. It is the perfect movie to kick back and watch at the end of a long work week. And I look forward to seeing much more from the delightful Miss Kim.

This movie was really touching. It was funny in the beginning but once you got to the end it was heartbreaking. I truly cried for the heroine. I found myself understanding where the heroine was coming from. I believe all of us women felt the way she did once in our lives. It was a bit on the fairy tale side, but it has a few touching scenes in it that will leave you feeling warm inside. All in all...in the end...i definately recommend this movie to everyone...male and female....even my dad liked it. LOL...and that's hard to do.

This movie is a no joke, it will laugh your butt off. I say it's very different from other korean comedy because all the scenes in this movie is very hiliarious and plus on top of that the story line is great. It's a guarantee must have dvd.

I loved this movie! Its really funny but also has alot of very heartbreaking scenes that'll definitely make you cry. I'm sure everyone in one way or another can relate the main character and the things that she goes through or feels. This is absolutely worth watching!
