I'll keep this as short and simple as possible. I got this album (Taiwanese version, comes with a bonus VCD with music video + making of) around last year December. Yes it was definitely out of season. But it suited well for the road trip in getting to Florida and exploring Florida for the Christmas Holidays (and to Disney World). I have so much summer/Christmas memories with this album. Every song in this album holds dear to my heart. Some songs have fun lyrics while some are a bit down to earth nice... This album surprised me a lot with how awesome these songs are, even though some arrangements were from some European based songs (only Dancing Out I believe..and Red Sun). I love all the tracks but if I were to choose, it'd be Black Beat's Shake (and yes I agree, this song is definitely something special), Catch The Shooting Star (Cheon Sang Ji Hee The Grace), Summer Night Love (KangTa), Without You (TRAX), Raindrops (HyunJin) and Oasis (TVXQ). Well it might as well be every track since this album as I said, is awesome. Black Beat could have had their big break Shake. Now I'm not even sure if they still exist as a group anymore, as well with TRAX. I'm so glad they took part in this album for they were just awesome and still are. Regardless, I love the album so much. The booklet is pretty awesome, though some are printed in black and white in mine. Nice glossy pages. Buy this with this years Summer album (2007) and in you're more than complete and set to go. No exaggeration. This album is something special Not buying this before going on vacation is a MISTAKE. |

It could have been better...

I usually enjoy the SM town collections, but although I like all the singers, I wish they would have put the hits individually. I don't know if any of those songs are hits in Korea right now, but I'm thinking perhaps not. Next time, SM people, please put the song with their origial singer(s), otherwise I won't buy it again. After all, "We are the World" was one song, but I wouldn't buy an album of it. |

This is the first SMTown album I listened. Though I agree it may not be as great as the previous ones. But it is still good. Red Sun is a great song. You can really feel the fun and joy of the song. Though I some of the songs are not my taste but most of them are good. I personally like DBSK's Oasis and Super Junior's Dancing Out and BoA's Touch. The songs give you a chance to enjoy the fun and cheerfulness of summer. Whether it is a slow or fast song. This is worth listenning. Even if it does not meet your taste of songs or expectations. |

As I saw the track list for the album, I was confused. No collaboration, except the title song. Isn't this CD supposed to be a collaboration? I know that the entertainment industry in Korea is continuing to suffer, but this CD just seems like a compilation or something. You know, a Korean version of NOW's, except it's all SM entertainment. It's a pity because SM Town is supposed to be like a way to make newer singers known by having them work with popular, established singers. It felt more like a display case of SM's most popular artists right now, BoA, Kangta, SuJu, TVXQ, CSZH, The TRAX, etc... There's so many people crammed in to the song that half the time, I can't tell who's singing. The only artist that's new to me (and I'm pretty sure she's been around for a while) was Hyun-jin. The songs individually were great- there's no denying it. And I got in to BLACKBEAT because of their song "Shake" in this album (although they'd been around for a while). The tracks alone are great, but I feel like the purpose of the album has been ignored. |

Weaker Compared To The Earlier
|
In comparison to the previous SM Town summer albums, this one is nowhere near their league. I'd only give a satisfied nod to a couple of the songs and the rest will take some time to get used to. As a previous reviewer mentioned, what makes the intra-label collaborations special is that the artists get to mix and mingle their vocals on the compilation but with 2006 Summer SM Town, it was more like each artist was in it individually. The fact that there are twice/thrice as many members that the previous releases does not help this album as more and more individuals have to vie for some time in the spotlight. In this case, the saying "the more, the merrier" does not really apply. In time, I'm positive that I will learn to tolerate, like, and perhaps even love the songs on this album but at the present time, I can't even listen to it more than once due to other better albums out there. |

BoA's song, "Touch", is really good and the rest are all right as well. But on a side note: FTTS isn't part of SM Entertainment anymore; they're with Pfull Entertainment now. I think the album would have been even better with them included. =) |

The album overall was very good. However, i wish there had been more collaboration between the artists, like they did with the older Summer/Winter Vacation albums. All the tracks are done by one group or solo artist only, something I wish SM didn't do, because i believe collab between artists were what made these Summer Vacation albums so unique. Its kind of deceiving when they say Isak and other idle SM stars will be singing in the album, when really, they only sing one line from the title song. I was also dissapointed when Shoo was not going to be in this album (i like shoo lol). I thought CSJH's "Catch the Shooting Star" was a very good song, along with BoA's "Touch," Super Junior's "Smile!" and KangTa's "Summer Night Love." they all have a different style and flair added to each melody. |

Can't wait!

I can't wait until I can order this album and recieve my copy! I wouldn't normally be interested in the SM town albums but I heard BoA's song (TOUCH) and it is so good, a very addictive song. The rest of the album must be really good too and with the YesAsia price like that why not buy it? |

Since this whole album pack with all my favorite artists/singers. Including rock'n' rolling sweetheart producer/singer KangTa, Sweet ladies TSZX, and couple newbie groups. Definitely going to get it when it releases. |
