在《2008新年新詩會》中，中央電視臺二十多位主持人在清華大學朗誦中國百年新詩。《我們的家園》有對南方和北方的抒情與懷想；有對微小事物的觀察以及由此而來的愁思或激情；有繽紛飛揚的思絮；有強烈或溫柔的頌歌。評選出的年度詩歌人物是謝冕。
由中央電視臺播音員主持人業務指導委員會和青少年中心主辦的新年新詩會從2005年開始，每年舉辦一屆，2008年已是第四屆，弘揚中華文化，傳播高雅藝術，詮釋詩歌經典，《新年新詩會》做出了卓越的貢獻。
