Chapter 1: Beginning of the End
Kenji (Karasawa Toshiaki) used to be a wannabe rocker but, now in his thirties, he's back in his hometown running a convenience store and taking care of his baby niece. All seems quiet and uneventful in Kenji's life, save for the worried whispers about the rise of a cult led by a masked man who calls himself "Friend". The cult's logo seems eerily familiar, as do the news of mysterious deaths and terrorist acts around the world. Back in the summer of 1969, Kenji and his buddies sketched for fun a Book of Prophecy that predicted the world's end. Twenty-eight years later, the scenarios laid out in the Book of Prophecy are coming true one by one, and all fingers point to "Friend". As friends and foes of the past reappear for mankind's last stand, can Kenji fulfill his own prophecy and save the world?
Chapter 2: The Last Hope
Fifteen years after the events of the first film, Japan that has completely fallen under the fascist spell of masked cult leader "Friend" after he stepped in to save the world from the virus he unleashed. Most of the resistance fighters have been missing or imprisoned since the bloody New Year's Eve showdown, and are now branded as terrorists. Kenji's niece Kanna (Taira Airi) has grown up into a spunky high school student who has inherited her uncle's drive to fight the man. For her rebellious behavior, Kanna gets sent to "Friend Land" for indoctrination, and earns the chance to enter a virtual reality world that holds the secret to Friend's identity. With Kanna's life in danger, faces from the past as well as new joiners to the cause begin to emerge from the shadows, but can this new team fight the sinister conspiracy that Friend is brewing? Who exactly is Friend, and what does his New Book of Prophecy have in store for the world?
Chapter 3: Our Flag
The year is 2017, and Friend's spell over Japan is stronger than ever. With Tokyo under quarantine because of the spread of a deadly virus, Friend announces that on August 12 all will be destroyed except for those who believe in Friend. Ocho (Toyokawa Etushi), Yoshitsune (Kagawa Teruyuki), Yukiji (Tokiwa Takako), Kanna, and other resistance fighters are still battling the government from underground, but Kanna has split from the group to pursue more radical means. As the clock ticks down and the sun sets over a divided Tokyo, Kenji appears again...
