Professional Review of "2nd Opus"

Cool: 2nd Opus ~ Huang LiCheng & Machi

The albums Gang Machi and Oh! My Machi DiDi last year established Huang LiCheng & Machi as two of the hippest pop stars in Taiwan. Now, the combination is back with a brand new Taiwanese album, 2nd Opus, featuring a number of new Mandarin and English songs.

It has been a year since their last album. It is good to know that the group still hangs on with Hip-Hop which they are really good at. Fans around the globe would be able to enjoy the music and songs despite the fact that most songs are in Taiwanese dialects.

Mixed rhythms add much colour to the songs in the album and members of the singing group are really good at rapping. In general, this is a brilliant album and an even better and cooler one than the previous one.

Every song in the album is of some characters. For example, Oh! Society (Track#3), My World (Track#10) and Wu! Ni Mai An Zen (Track#12) talk about thought-provoking topics while Indian Gods Trip (Track#4) and Play Boy (Track#14) are about the dirty stories of the guys among the gang. Yuan Tou Yu E Chou (Track#5) is a song in which brothers make fun of each other.

The present reviewer would like to recommend the extremely touching ballad Hey! Baby (Track#7). Besides, the English lyrics and beautiful rhythms in You Can't Do It (Track#11) has made it as ear-appealing as last year's 911.

Cool (Track#2), the leading track, is a chorus by Jeffrey Huang, Machi DiDi and Fat Guy. It is special but not that good really.

They rule! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
In this new album, the Machi crew has given a more variety in the style of hip hop, and has realli shown why hip hop is soooooo popular. I personally think that this album has shown improvement from the first, and if you ever buy this c.d. or listen, i would really recommended the song "hey, baby". Keep up the good work Machi! Peace!
