YesAsia Editorial Description

An early Stephen Chow comedy before his mega-superstar days, Faithfully Yours finds the popular funnyman as one of three buddies who may or may not be the father to Sharla Cheung's unborn child. Three single pals (Stephen Chow, Jacky Cheung, and Max Mok) all decide to openly pursue sexy Sharla Cheung, but her dad (Richard Ng Yiu Hon) disapproves of their overtly flirtatious attitudes. She treats them all with equal respect and affection, but after one particularly rowdy night of partying, the three wake up in her bedroom with no recollection of what went on. They figure it뭩 all no big deal - until she discovers weeks later that she's pregnant. Unable to determine the true identity of the father, the three begin to compete even harder to win her love and final selection as her chosen husband. However, it's not that easy - especially if her dad has anything to say about it! Wacky sitcom setups, a trio of funny leading men, and the photogenic presence of Sharla Cheung enliven Faithfully Yours!

Glossy remastering of goofy comedy Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
"Faithfully Yours" provides an odd twist on the premise of the Hollywood hit "Three Men and a Baby"; here the story becomes "Three Men and the Baby's Mother". God of Songs Jacky Cheung stars as Happy, a hair-dressing star who has opened his salon next door to a hair salon owned by the greatly displeased Chuk Tai-Chung (Richard Ng).

Just when it looks like a feud will develop between the two salon owners, Happy and his two inseparable pals, Big Eye (Max Mok) and Puddin Lai (Stephen Chow), get an eyeful of Chuk's gorgeous daughter Ying (Sharla Cheung). The three friends fall over each other attempting to gain the approval of Chuk in hopes of winning the heart of Ying.

Their efforts lead to a night of heavy drinking in Chuk's home, which improbably culminates in the impregnation of Ying by one of the three pals -- but no one can recall just who did the deed. To sort out which of the three is the most suitable choice to marry Ying and care for her child, Ying's godfather and Chuk concoct a Solomonic scheme that leads to a sweet ending.

"Faithfully Yours" proves to be a hit-or-miss production, filled with inconsistent slapstick comedy and inconsistent performances, particularly from the mugging Jacky Cheung, who may have been overstretched in 1988, a year in which he recorded two albums and was featured in nine films. Credit must go to Fortune Star for delivering a splendidly remastered DVD. Fans of the film's stars will find many enjoyable moments amidst this otherwise forgettable flick.
