YesAsia Editorial Description

Cooking and kung-fu get royally roasted in The God of Cookery, a brilliantly creative and hilarious comedy directed by and starring Hong Kong's master of comedy, Stephen Chow! Stephen Chow is the self-styled God of Cookery, an arrogant chef and restaurateur who uses his image to sell sub-standard fast food chains and poor quality instant food. But Chow is about to receive a stunning fall from grace! Betrayed by his own trusted associate (regular Stephen Chow co-star Richard Ng Man Tat), Chow's reputation and position are usurped by Bull Tong (Vincent Kok), a true chef who studied at the Shaolin school of cooking! Disgraced and ashamed, Chow ends up on Temple Street, where he earns the pity and friendship of disfigured food stall owner Turkey (Karen Mok). With her help, some Shaolin Temple training, and a brand new invention called "Explosive Pissing Beef Balls", Chow returns to reclaim the title and prestige that was once his! A hilarious and wildly entertaining send-up of Iron Chef, Shaolin kung-fu films, and even the triad gangster genre, The God of Cookery is one of Stephen Chow's most accomplished motion pictures, and an audience favorite worldwide!

Just ordered this dvd a few days ago so i havent seen it yet, but i dont think this /New Version/ will be much differ from the `old` one.But i look forward 2 receiving it anyways.

I dont have much 2 say about this movie other than its 2 FUNNY 2 watch!! especially the first part of the movie. The 2nd is also funny but not as `refined` as the 1nd part. Have seen it quiet a few times and it always makes me laugh.
The actors/actress performence is just brilliant!, but of coz Stephen Chow is the main attraction. Even though its quiet an old movie it can still keep up with the ~nowadays~, mainly if we are talking about comedy movies thats what i think atleast. ~ / think i got almost all of S.C`s movies or as far as i can recall...
Dont want 2 write anymore, got 2 have something 2 eat now, im hungry!!
Bu before i go ill share some words with you, and that is:
-ngoh tau yeon?-, -g..gg..g..giem kiu-, - taanh mat ye, kau mai yat tai tou lai liu ngau yuen a ban!-, -HEY UFO!-

Brill Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
There is some sort of storyline in this, but missing the beautiful ladies in all of Stephen's films! However, the comedy is just brill in this...once again with the Shaolin incorporated with the humour in this film! Excellent cause it made me laugh...and I don't like to cook! TR

Bon Apitite Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is a really great movie!! It stands up there along with another of his movies, "God of Gamblers 2." After the movie, I had to get the dish he made at the end!! I recommend this movie to everyone especially those who love to cook and laugh!
