I WANT MY REAL AMURO BACK!
I WANT MY REAL AMURO BACK!

I'm totally agree with Ignored Truth. I love Amuro's music so much. I always thought that she is kind of shy and natural person. And I still think that she is. But, in fact, her new albums and singles [since 'Style'], are nothing but PRETENDING. You can kill me, or something, but I really do really think that she changed her music for the worse. Even thought 'Sweet 19 Blues' or 'Concentration20' were great albums, 'PLAY', and also '60s 70s 80s' are just good. When I listened to '60s 70s 80s' for the first time, I was amazed. Now I'm just so sad. New Look- you can't get anything worse than her NEW LOOK. Why she is so commercial now?! Rock Steady- I think that this song is the best. It's kind of not so fast, not so slow- but the lyrics aren't so good... And, finally, What's A Feeling. I may ask: What the heck?! When I heard it for the first time I was so sad. So, so sad. It's like the modern techno- but in this 'bad' meanning. I hate it when people pretend just to get money. Of course, I understand- she had to change her style because of the new fashion [and, unfortunally, because of the fact, that people prefer WATCH than LISTEN], but why she turned into a normal pop star without the character? I have no idea. I hope that one day, Amuro will do an album, like she used to do. I'm waiting for new 'Sweet 19 Blues'. Even if it won't happen. |

Better
Better
| I have to say that this single is better than some of her previous singles. Not to say that her other singles were bad its just it seems like she was more comfortable in these songs. New Look and What a Feeling are probably my favorite at of this single. Rock Steady is ok it's just doesn't really have a hook. The limited edition is a good buy. Namie Looks beautiful in all three of the music videos. If you don't want to spend the money of the Japan version then go for the Korean Version or something. I have personally bought some of the Korean Versions of some of Namie's released and I see nothing different in them. Other than the fact tht they were released in a different country and that the dvd is in a different region. |

Covering three old songs and making of them a modern j-pop version is really a perfect idea ! They all sound very catchy, my favourite is ''WHAT A FEELING'' because it has got a very good dance arrengement but I like a lot ''NEW LOOK'' with its fresh style and ''ROCK STEADY'' with its urban style too. To me it's a must have single, you'll not be dissapointed. |

I know ALOT about Japan...and considering I lived there for 6 years, yeah. Well, I have discovered that alot of Japan celebs put on fronts/a "fake" face. Sometimes, a singer's onstage persona may be completely different than their offstage personality...it's just a put-on image to sell. That's how Namie Amuro is. Backstage, she's a very shy and quiet person...while, in front of the camera during concerts and pvs, she plays this "I'm so cool" role. This single follows in that tradition. "New Look" is the video I found closest to her sweet little personality, but the song is dreadfully boring. I think it's one of the worst songs by her ever. "Rock Steady" was a nice attempt at trying to be "lively", but Namie still didn't losen up completely. The song is pretty nice if you can get past the seemingly out-of-tune "lalalalas" just before the chorus. "What A Feeling" was comical. Is it me or does Namie look bored stiff in her strong dance-themed songs? Her movements were very dull which makes me rather watch the dancers. This really contradicts "I like to dance, yeah, Everybody call me dancing queen". If I'm not mistaken, I usually heard people call BoA Asia's best female dancer - not Namie Amuro. I do think it's the best song from the single though. Overall it's a pretty decent buy, but I don't admire her supposedly "cool" image. I'd still buy the CD+DVD because Namie is gorgeous and the vids are not nearly as boring as her past works like "Put 'Em Up", "WANT ME, WANT ME", and "Alarm" which no smile was even cracked. Isn't singing and dancing supposed to be fun??? Namie is extremely too mellow. For once, I'd like to see her go crazy and have fun...show her big smile more often. |

I used to listen to Amuro back in middle school (back when the STYLE album was out). That was the first album i liked by her and then after that, the only recent song i liked by her was 'hello'. I heard a preview of this on youtube and I have to say that i am very surprised by this single. The music is awesome and seems to fit her age more. ^^() I love the old school beats with the techno flow. There is a reason why it's called 60s70s80s. ^_^ My favorite song is 'what a feeling'. I think i will pre-order this edition of the single (I want the DVD and i need region 3). I'll be back to review the product once i get it. |

My favorite Namie work!

After "Play", I wasn't hoping much for this single! Once I saw the videos for "Rock Steady" and "NEW LOOK", I preordered CD+DVD immediately. =D This Namie style is more lively and more fun than any of her previous works. She took on a modern twist to the 60s, 70s, and 80s - having each of the 3 videos with a different theme and it worked out VERY well! n_n "Rock Steady" is very soulful, sexy, and disco. The vocals are surprising and the dance is very playful. While it took me about 2-3 listens to get used to this style, it quickly became my most favorite upbeat Namie song & video! "NEW LOOK" is very cute and sugar sweet! With the multiple scenes and outfit changes, this is Namie's most interesting video to date (in my oppinion!). I haven't seen "what a feelin'" (80s style) yet, they're probably saving the best for last! I'm sure it'll be just as good or better than the previous two. ^.^ Even if it's not, "Rock Steady" and "NEW LOOK" are enough to make me want this! *.* oooOoooOoo~can't wait for its release date! |
