Shhhhhh...
Although we heard 66db as the third track on YUKI's first album 'PRISMIC', we get to hear it again on her third (self produced) single, along with a killer remix and the excellent new track 'byuu byuu'. The remix is -from observation- the exact opposite of the original song. The title hints to this... as 'qp99' is actually '66db' backwards and upside down. '66db qp99mix' is almost all whispered lyrics by YUKI with some slight background 'sounds' that produce the overall effect of being lost and silent. As the lyrics go... everybody loves so silence. With this single YUKI reinvented her already unique style. It's not to be missed! |

Song gives you the Chills (in a good way)
Yuki can sing in a way that gives you the chills right to the bone. She can put you in a trance without you even recognizing it. This is definitely not the tradiitonal song. The song sounds like new age in a very slow beat and puts you in an unbelievable mood as if you're high and the whole room seems to be spinning (and NO, i'm not a drugee..lol). Like a slowwww, mooddy, classsy, music. The music is very freaky. It should be used in a horror movie. VERY ScARY. After singing in a lost melody where the notes don't make sense, she whispers something quietly to you for about 15 seconds before saying "shhhhhh" bringing the music to a close. Her voice is super-echoed so it sounds like "nah ii - ii -ii - ii -ii " This is definitely not the traditional song, it's so hard to describe. Very interesting. I've never heard a song like this in my ENTIRE life. Even the name of the song is weird. "66db" For those of you who are curious or very spiritual or into Trance/New Age, you'll find this song very very VERy interesting. |
