Great rock album! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I absolutely love this album. It features some of her best heavy rock songs, which I listen to again and again, especially the first two tracks. Some of the ballards are good too. A slightly different style to the rock music on Purana, but it grows on me every time I listen to it.
Well done Aikawa!

Don't let the cover fool you... Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
The cover of this CD looks elfish and serene. The CD is pure rock and roll. VERY heavy music and in no way relaxing. But, if you wanna rock, her voice is great and very strong. She sings as though she is sure of herself and her music. Her English is perfect and actually is one of the few times I can say it fits into the songs! She knows what's she about and has no problem showing it off. However, as I said: this is NOT J-Pop...this is J-Rock all the way! Which isn't bad in any way...I just wanted other people to know before they buy to not base their decision on the cover look. I'd have to say her style (not her voice...which is unique to her and wonderful) reminds me of the American band No Doubt.

Calmer than most of her creations Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
7 Seven is a great album, although it separates a bit in that it is overflowing with ballads instead of her classic rock-pieces. They're still as good as ever, and it's nice to finally hear some more of her calm pieces. Earlier there have been more rock-songs, and from what I know (not having many of her albums, though) this is her calmest record. So if you like her calm songs, get this! If you like her rock songs, get this too 'cause it has R-sitai on it which is one of her absolute best songs.

All time best EVER! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
When I purchased this album, I had only a slight clue about the contents of the album, since AVEX so generously supplied 3 sample songs, and I haven't followed her releases since Purana. Having been a fan of Nanase since 1999, I had experienced both satisfaction and disappointment from this artist. Anyhow, I expected this album to be of the same quality as "Purana", which I must admit wasn't too great. MAN WAS I WRONG! I will speak from both technics as well as feeling.

In terms of technics, most of the songs are really well orchestrated and performed. Although most of her songs are edgy guitar-rock, upon careful listening, you can pick out violins, pianos, cellos, etc. I'm not an expert in music, but I can still differentiate various intruments. Just by the number of instruments used PER song, you can begin to appreciate how much effort has been placed in the musical composition. Also, Nanase's vocal ability has improved greatly since Purana. In fact, I'm so impressed that I WILL go as far as to say that nobody can sing track #8 better than her. Her presentation is absolutely flawless. This and other songs are very well delivered, and with great emotion, might I add. My impression of her vocal ability has certainly gone up a many notches. To me, she is truely a veteran singer now.

The feeling I get from this album is that it is very epic, grand, emotionally charged. Most of them give me the same surreal feeling as "Seven Seas". The greater emotion is attributed to a) the drawn out notes that she sings in many of the songs b) orchestra-scale musical composition c) 80's style "catchy" melody.. Now don't back away when I said that last point. As a person born in the early 80's, I've been exposed to plenty of 80's music, both good and bad. However, I notice a trend away from catchy melodies (ex. Sailor moon stuff) to overly complicated melodies that don't stick well in the head. "Seven" blends what is current with more absorbable melodies to yield something that will stick in your mind and keep making you feel emotional.

Overall, the album is put together very well. There's a theme, and that's what makes it so unique. Every song is attributed to a colour, and Nanase explains in the booklet what the colour means in the context of the song. What a way to conclude the album with "Night Rainbow". Also, it was a right decision to leave "Shock of Love" as a bonus song instead of sticking it in the middle of the album because it doesn't fit well in the scheme of things.

Buy this album now, if you haven't already done so. Buy it for your friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, colleages, whomever. You won't regret it one bit.
