 The "A" in "BEST" Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This album sold over 4 million copies and for a reason; all of Ayumi's hits from her debut up untill her 3rd studio album "Duty" are featured on the 16 tracks-counting album.

The first three tracks are re-sung. Normally, I'm not fond of a best album with new versions of the songs, but this time I'm glad she did it because I never got to grew into the voice she had around her debut.

Aside from the three remastered tracks, there are songs on this album, like "M" and "Boys & Girls", that sold more than a million copies when they were released as a single. More than enough reason to purchase a copy. Even today, 6 years later, "A BEST" remains as the sixth best selling album in Japan!

Be sure to also look into the "A BEST 2" series, two other recordbreaking albums by Ayumi.

I love this album and yes, it is a brilliant collection...but if you honestly want "The Best Of Ayumi Hamasaki"...you should look into A BEST 2 -white- and A BEST 2 -black- editions...they are truly the collection to chose! However, this album is so wonderful to own if you're a diehard Ayu fan like me and must collect everything! =P She's brilliant. Simply put.

I would highly recommend this album to everyone. Ayu is very special. This is a great album, when i heard carefully, i found that she not only re-recored track 1,2 and 3 but also track 6 and 8. This is great!

As the album title says, it is really one of Ayumi's BEST album!

Even if you have all albums you should really buy this great collection of songs. Ayu have added new vocals on 3 songs and they sound great. This is not just another best off album. It is so more then that and you should buy this wonderful album now before it gets deleted. This is an perfect way to start if you are new to Ayu. Also try her studio albums in order wich they are all greats.

A great cover in a cool cardboard sleeve! All Ayu;s greatest hits and four of them are re-recorded - "A Song for xx", "Trust", "Depend on you" and "End roll". The re-recorded "A Song for xx" is one of the most emotional ayu songs I have ever heard! At first I bought this album only as a collection item but when I received it I understood its greatness!

I have listened to her latest work and I must say that this collection is so far her best work all together. I have listened to this CD over and over again and it never gets old. I definitely recommend it to everyone who's a fan of Ayumi.

I am a bit dissappointed in the first three tracks of the overseas version. I find the original version (Japanese version) of these songs (especially Depend on You) are much easier to appreciate than the new-vocal version (the overseas version). As for the the rest of the tracks: EXCELLENT, very original and fits well with the pure voice and style of Ayumi Hamasaki.
