From director Jo Myeong Nam comes A Bold Family, a winning comedy about the crazy lengths people will go just for the sake of money. Also known by the title Super Family, the film tells the story of two brothers, Myong Sok (Kam Woo Seong) and Myong Gyu (Kim Soo Ro). When the elder brother Myong Sok becomes plagued with debt, he soon realizes that his terminally-ill father holds the key to resolving his financial woes. Sometime in the past, Mr. Kim (Shin Goo) bought some property that is now worth 5 billion won. However, any dreams of inheriting that land seem moot when Kim's future plans are revealed. It seems the old man was separated from his first family in North Korea, and desperately wishes to see the wife and daughter he left behind. Thus, if the Koreas are not unified by the time of his death, Kim plans to give over the land to the Unification Ministry!
This turn of events leads Myong Sok to hatch a plan with his younger brother, a B-grade erotic film director, to trick their father into believing that North and South Korea are unified, hoping such news will put them in a position to inherit the vast family fortune. So with the help of the rest of the family and Myong Gyu's guerrilla film crew, the two brothers start faking North Korean television broadcasts in order to dupe their father! But what starts out as simple plan becomes increasingly complex and out-of-hand, leading not only the family, but everyone around them to participate in this elaborate charade! Will the two brothers succeed? Find out in A Bold Family, a wacky comedy that takes the serious issue of North and South Korean tensions and satirizes it with overwhelmingly humorous results!

금방이라도 돌아가실 것처럼 심해지던 김노인의 병세가 ‘통일이 되었다’는 거짓말에 기적처럼 호전되어 가는 것이 아닌가? 게다가 업친 데 덮친 격으로 가짜로 만들어 낸 통일신문을 본 김노인이 ‘남북 단일팀 탁구 대회’를 봐야겠다는 통에 가족들은 졸지에 탁구선수로 분해 경기장면까지 카메라에 담아내야 한다. 하지만 사건은 이제 시작에 불과! 설상가상으로 ‘평양 교예단이 서울에서 공연을 한다’는 가짜 기사를 본 김노인은 다짜고짜 ‘서커스를 보겠다’고 우기기 시작한다. 모든 게 거짓상황이니 서커스공연이 있을리 만무. 하지만 이제 와서 모든 게 거짓이었다고 말했다가는 김노인은 금세 쓰러질 게 뻔하다. 게다가 명석이 진 빚을 받기 위해 찾아온 악덕 사채업자 박상무마저 집에 눌러 앉게 되면서 상황은 더욱 꼬여간다. 결국 명석은 박상무를 포섭한 데 이어 명규를 짝사랑하는 춘자까지 통일연극에 참여시키며 직접 평양교예단의 서커스 공연을 실연해내지만, 아버지 소원을 사수하기 위해 벌였던 거짓말은 점점눈덩이처럼 커져가며 예상치 못한 방향으로 치달아 가는데...

This film really is a good film. Its a story of a family who is dying... his last will in his inheritance is for North and South Korean to unify.. Which the two sons felt is impossible. So make him happy Gam Woo Sung and his younger brother filmed news, sports events, greaking news etc and televised it exclusively for their father to watch to make him believe that his dreams became a reality. All characters played by the whole family were great.even the girl who played Gam Woo Sung wife. I specifically loved it when she rolled his father in law to his wheel chair to get away from a man who is trying the ask the old man...the unification is was talking about. Soo funny. In the end, it really made me laugh too. When the sons and father were allowed to visit North Korea to see the father of his father left there for some twenty years..only to find out that their sister died a year ago. Not to allow more depression to his father, they defied again their father introduing a cousin to be his daughter. So touching. You should watch it. |
