This disc (described as the Taiwan DVD) is actually a poor transfer of a vcd into dvd format. The sides of the image are missing, and the picture quality is HORRIBLE. The Chinese and English subtitles are BOTH hard-coded into the picture on this disc!! Buy the DTS version dvd, which also has a regular dolby soundtrack. It costs LESS than this disc, and has far superior picture quality. It also has selectable Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean subtitles and is only $7.99 |

A ClASSIC.
| A Chinese Odyssey is a great and enjoyable movie! Of course you have to see Part 1 and Part 2 together. For greater appreciation and understanding of this movie watch Shaw Brothers "The Monkey Goes West" first. You will get better acquainted, if not fall in love with, the main characters-Monkey, Piggy and Monk Tang (A.K.A. Longevity Monk.) Enjoy the adventure! |

I watched it too many times!
| I loved this movie. I love the main actor steven? I just love all his movies, he's so funny. Anyway, this movie is great, but it did take me 2 or 3 viewings to figure out who was in who's body in the 2nd video. It's funny, sad, and tragic sometimes. Most of his movies center around it. THere are always some parts that make u cringe from the pain they are inflicted with. But like always, funny and very entertaining. |

MUST HAVE
| This is one of those movies that is a must have. This one will bring out the emotions in you. The love themes in this movie is great. Would recommand this for everyone. |

great movie
| this is a great movie. the only bad part is that it comes in two parts. which i feel is a rip-off cus without the second part this movie isn't complete. so i am rating this complete movie(part one & part 2) as a fantastic movie. this is my fav movie. |

good plot
| this is a good movie if you like love mixed with adventure, fighting fantasy, and is mixed with morals! i know that i sure like the movie alot... be sure to get the second part as well, other wise you will miss the ending and get confused. it is difinetly worht the price too! |

| Well frankly, lot of people is getting sick of Stephen corny jokes. But this movie is actually quiet good. The jokes are very funny and the emotions is there. Come on give this a chance. |
