徐々に体が動かなくなってゆき、やがて体の全機能が停止してしまう難病「脊髄 小脳変性症」。映画では、この病気に中学３年生の時にかかった主人公・木藤亜也が、２１歳になるまで書き続けた日記をもとにストーリー化し、心の激しく揺れ動く葛藤の日々を中心に家族や主治医らとのふれあいを描く。原作である「１リットルの涙」は1986年著者である木藤亜矢さんの日記を編集した もので、亜矢さんは全身の自由を奪われてはいたものの、まだ在命中に出版され、大き な反響を呼び110万部のベストセラーに。もうひとつの原作「いのちのハードル」 は、母親・木藤潮香さんによって書かれた亜矢さんを見つめ続けた記録で、同じくベストセラーとなっている。長らく映画化の話があったが、今回初めて待望の実現。難しい役を”演技を超えた演技”ともいうべき驚異的な熱演でもって表現するのは、オーディションでこの役を見事射止め、本作が映画初主演となる大西麻恵。監督は、ソニーや資生堂他数多くのＣＭ を手掛けた、岡村力。映画初挑戦となる本作で、そのマルチな才能を遺憾なく発揮。 涙が止まらない感動の映画が誕生。

The movie softly depicts some moments of Aya's life especially underlining the relation with her mother and with the doctor who followed her during the progress of her sickness. Even with some concession to melodrama it captures the essence of the story, thanks also to Asae Onishi's wonderful performance, dealing with a difficult theme in a simple but effective way. The plot has a slow pace and flows linearly without surprises; director's real aim here is not to entertain but just to tell us the tragic life of this girl and a way to say thanks to Aya Kito for the suffered and encouraging words she left us. So, while not technically nor artistically over the average, the movie succeedes in its purpose to let us discover this sad story and forward to us the message contained in Aya's diary, trying to make the viewer look at life from a different perspective. |
