Most manipulative movie of all time?
Most manipulative movie of all time?

"A Millionaire's First Love" just might be the most emotionally manipulative movie I've ever seen. In the film's opening scenes, we are introduced to out-of-control, irresponsible, violent and obnoxious Jae Kyung (Hyun Bin), the heir apparent to a fortune built by his grandfather upon a luxury hotel. At the hotel, Jae Kyung encounters a soulful-looking young woman who wants to speak with him; he inexplicably assumes the young woman is a hooker (although she looks nothing like a hooker) and throws her out of the hotel. Naturally, these two will cross paths again in the future. The lawyer for his grandfather's estate informs Jae Kyung that, in order to claim his fortune, Jae Kyung must graduate from the high school in the small rural town in which he spent the first few years of his life, until the untimely deaths of his parents. Spoiled, rebellious Jae Kyung, much against his will, returns to the town and discovers there the soulful young woman, Eun Hwan (Lee Yeon Hee). We soon learn that Eun Hwan suffers from an inoperable illness and has only a few months to live. The rest of the story writes itself; by revealing this fatal illness relatively early in the film, the audience knows exactly how the story will end and the film takes every opportunity to milk the pathos of the situation. Hyun Bin and Lee Yeon Hee make very appealing and attractive leads, but "A Millionaire's First Love" holds no surprises. |

definitely a must

Both the two leads are so very good looking and this is a very entertaining movie. There is no time for you to wander off because you will be absorbed in the film from the beginning to the very end. Hyun Bin has improved so much since the days of Sam soong. Go for it. |

Good, but not the best
|
It was very well done, better than a lot of other kmovies, but you kind of get lost in the middle and wonder if you've skipped any scenes. Like almost every kmovie, it's a lil rushy in the beginning, but you fall in love w/the main characters and everything is worthwhile. I highly recommend this show. I admit Hyun Bin was better in Kim Sam Soon, but his character development in this movie is touching and he does an excellent job, defnitely worth your time. |

Great movie
|
This movie is well worth the watch, it starts out quite amusing then turns sweet in the middle and then quite sad in the end. It is a bit predictable in places but it is easy to identify with the characters and the changes that they go through which more than makes up for the predictability. It's a good movie for a girl's night in, or for watching with your partner on a romantic evening. Just remember to stock up on tissues before watching!. |

Good
|
I didn't say excellent but it does fall into the genre of rich boy tranforms into good boy after experiencing a love that tranforms him into a humble person. Personally, I love all sappy romantic movies. Even though it does remind me of 'A Walk to Remember,' it was unique in its own way. So watch it if you like the typical tearjerker romantic movie. |

Excellent!

If you've ever been in love, this movie will tug at your heart! One of the saddest movie I've ever seen. Hyun Bin is the perfect leading man who reunites with his little gf from back in the day. Since then, he's grown into a rich brat, but his grandfather used his inheritance as a vehicle for him to grow up. The song is so perfect! Aw! Do not miss it! Worth every penny! |
