회사의 중역이자 한 가족의 가장인 지안은 회사를 위해 매일 힘든 경쟁을 하고 그 와중에 옛 애인 세리를 만난다. 아내 밍밍은 어머니가 혼수상태에 빠지자 괴로워하다 수도원으로 들어가 버린다.고등학생 딸 팅팅은 친구의 애인이었던 패티에게 사랑이란 감정을 느끼게 되고 초등학생 아들 양양은 학교생활에 적응하지 못한 채 점차 이성에 눈을 뜨기 시작한다. 서로에 대해 소외감을 느끼는 이들은 어머니에게 무슨 이야기든지 해 주면 의식이 회복될 수 있다는 의사의 권고로 이야기를 할려 하지만 건넬 말이 없다.그러나 이를 계기로 각자가 자신의 삶을 돌아보기 시작한다 .
