TVB favorite Bobby Au-Yeung cracks cases and deals justice in the 20-episode costume suspense series A Pillow Case of Mystery. Similar to series like Justice Pao and Bobby Au-Yeung's previous Witness to a Prosecution, A Pillow Case of Mystery revolves around solving mysterious murders and corruption cases through deductive reasoning - and some divine intervention. Bobby Au-Yeung portrays a country magistrate who loses all confidence and motivation after his inaccurate court ruling drives an innocent person to suicide. By chance, he acquires a very special pillow watched over by a Pillow Spirit. In his dreams, the Pillow Spirit provides him hints on how to solve his cases.

Based on a famous Qing Dynasty novel, A Pillow Case of Mystery co-stars top actress Kenix Kwok as Au-Yeung's romantic interest, as well as popular actors Benny Chan Ho Man, Tavia Yeung, and Annie Man. Aired in 2006, A Pillow Case of Mystery was such a big hit with audiences, a sequel was made in 2008.

Product Information

SZE SAI LUN (Au Yeung Chun Wah, Bobby), the magistrate of Jiangdu County, obtains a Dream Pillow by chance. Whenever LUN comes across any difficulties, the Pillow Spirit (Lo Hoi Pang) makes appearing in his dream and help him crack the cases. With the Spirit’s help, LUN saves his sweet rival, MAI HEUNG YUNG (Kwok Ho Ying, Kenix), and also removes the veil hidden behind the Spirit.

WONG TIN PAK (Chan Ho Man), YUNG’s brother, comes upon Princess TSANG KAK MING CHU (Tavia Yeung) and they fall into each other. Will the love last beyond borders? Will LUN finally seek the Spirit a fair treatment?

Not a Soft Pillow Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Bobby Au-Yeung is such a lovable character in this 20 episode series. As with days of old, well-to-do men were allowed to have as many concubines as they wish (so long as he could afford them). In this case he started out with 3 and ended with #4 (Kenix). A chance find of a porcelain pillow allows him to connect via his dreams to the spirit trapped inside. With this special 'connection' the spirit gives him hints & tips to help solve his cases but later he discovered this spirit was actually the grandfather of Kenix who also later became his 4th concubine. Many subplots, twists & turns make this series very enjoyable.

A special mention of supporting actor Gordon Liu who actually provided bonafide fighting scenes (although in a smaller scale of what he's actually capable of), and Tavia with a great show of emotion (I personally promote her to "Crying Queen".
