Brooding indie rocker Mozi's (Morning Mo) music and popularity hit a road bump at the same time as his girlfriend Casey's (Jozie Lu) career begins to take off. After Casey moves out, Mozi is left alone with his burgeoning debt and an apartment he can no longer afford. Lin (Jack Kao) is a master in a dying trade, the art of origami paper offerings. He constructs elaborate paper mansions that are burnt for use in the next life; in this life, he is struggling to keep his land from property developers and to scrap up the money for cancer treatment. His wife Yue (Lu Yu Ching) sweeps graves and can speak to spirits; their son Xiao Gang (Tang Chen Gang) is better at accumulating real estate online than selling actual real estate at his job. Different people with different struggles, they encounter unexpected challenges and revelations as they try to find their places in society.

A small time rock'n singer Mozi, is inspired to write a song one day for his singer girlfriend Kasey, but he accidentally dies before he can deliver it to her, Kasey, who is becoming famous in the music scene, had been writing him a song every year. However, the first song she receives from Mozi predicts the end of their relationship. After finding out he has cancer, a very gifted origami master, Mr. Lin, makes a super luxurious origamivilla for himself. Bu t in the end, he has to give it away because of debt. His wife, A-yue, sweeps tombs for a living. One of her dead "clients" tells her where she can get several million dollars. But after getting it, she just gives it away impulsively.

These two sets of characters have nothing in common at the start. However their lives start to intermingle because of A-yue's son, Gang. Gang has seen his luck change. He lands a relatively plum job in a real estate agency, enabling him to sell a flat for the first eime in his life, which starts a series of chain effects. Whether alive or dead, all these characters are facing some unpredictable changes especially in terms of where they live...
