Beautiful, but cloying

"A West Lake Moment" combines lovely cinematography, creative storytelling techniques, effective performances by beautiful young actors, and some genuinely affecting moments. So why don't I give this film a higher rating? Ultimately, the story simply is much too contrived and manipulative and the self-involved characters spend far too much time ruminating on their feelings. Your humble servant can recommend this movie only for moony adolescents. |
