Great Touching Story
| After reading such great reviews for this animation i just had to check it out, and wow. Great stuff, emotional, good animations and a nice storyline. The voiceovers were also pretty good. Some voice overs just do films no justice. i would recomend this film for anyone who wants to watch a film thats tugs on the heart strings. |

An extremely profound story that will move you within the first few scenes. The story of Oshin is particularly focused on the hardship of life and human nature at its most desperate times. Oshin was six when she was first sent away to work, she worked hard but was mistakenly accused of theft. She ran away and took refudge with an escaped soldier who depises war, he treated her very well and the two forged a wonderful friendship. However he dies and she returns home, upon her arrival her father beats her and accuses her of cowardice and is disappointed that she would neglect her job. The family plans to seek residence outside Japan towards a better future, however Oshin's grandma would not be able to go due to poor health. After much debate, the family decides to stay. Her mother becomes a geisha to support the family and Oshin willingly decides to work again. She was taken in by a wealthy family with a mistress at her age, However Oshin was ill treated at first but was later accepted. The story concludes with her grandma's death and Oshin making a promise that she will make sure her family will have a good future. The last scene is particularly touching and will make you appreciate the simpler things in life. I would truly recommend this to anyone and everyone who loves a good story and is unafraid to cry. |
