I have not watched Princess Huai Yu so I am unable to make a comparison between the two. The plot is simple and it is considered very fast pace for a period drama. I am plesantly surprise to see that Alec Su can act well in a comedic role. One disappointment that I have is the dubbed voice (not only Jang Na Ra but everyone). In certain talking scenes between Alec Su & Jang Na Ra, you can see that there's a delayed response from the two of them. I believe this is due to the fact that they are not speaking the same language. This makes their expressions a little unnatural. Overall, it is worth watching if you are not too particular with the dubbing.

October 31, 2005 Not so goodI have just finished watching the Taiwanese drama "Prince turns into a Frog" and it reminds me of this K-drama. The story is almost the same.. rich guy with a fiancee, meets a car accident, lost his memory and was saved by a poor girl, then falls in love with this poor girl. The second half of the story progesses when the guy meets another accident, lost just that part his memory with the poor girl but regains his memory as the rich man (ridiculous?). As compared to the Taiwanese version, the K-version is a little inferior. Both actors are good-looking but Yoo-Jin's acting cute scenes are a little exagerrated here. I do not find her compatible with JS. There isn't a scene in the K-version that I can recall catching my attention fully as I do not find the drama touching at all. If you like this drama, I am sure you will love the Taiwanese version much more.

JHJ looks a little fat in this drama (as compared to Lover Letter) HCY is beautiful (as compared to her role in Autumn Tale) which I did not notice until I watch this drama. The storyline is refreshing, started with a one-night stand followed by a single-mom raising the child of this lover although I cannot understand what makes her do that. It is not convincing enough that HCY has so much feelings for JHJ that she's willing to be a single mom, for a one-night lover? But as the story progresses, it touches my heart that JHJ is willing to love her and her child unconditionally. Overall, it is an entertaining drama but it does not leave a lasting impresssion though.

October 31, 2005 Unimpressive dramaIn my view, this is a lousy drama. The lead actress is unattractive, the storyline is boring, JJH acted horribly as a child. What's more, in some scenes, I cannot tell if the lead actress is crying or laughing. There's no excitement throughout the entire drama.

This drama is a little slow moving but as it progesses, I begin to feel the pain for SYA and wonder what has she done to deserve the mishaps that surrounds her. I decide to watch this drama because of KMJ (in Damo) but in the end I was impressed with SYA's performance here. The storyline is unimpressive, ridiculous in my view because I cannot accept the reason of pride for SYA to leave the lover, married another man but still in love with the lover. If not for SYA's outstanding performance, I would have given a lower rating for this drama. Overall, it is still worthwhile to watch but probably will be one of those dramas that will not leave a lasting impression.

October 31, 2005 EntertainingThe fairy tale storyline is fascinating to start off with. Suave Ming Dao match with cute Qiao En is refreshing. A number of scenes with Qiao En acting cute are surprisingly acceptable (as compared to her acting in MVP) and you would want to believe that this is just Tianyu's unpretentious behaviour. The two main leads did a good job to make this drama very entertaining and the supporting role like Tianyu's mom makes the drama livelier. There are various scenes in the drama that touches my heart and it leaves a very heartwarming feeling after finishing the drama. Overall, it is a good drama worth watching. I would have given a higher rating if the latter part of the drama is not that draggy.
